    Off-topic.

This development thread has nothing to do with tracks. Besides, there's a specific thread for maps in the other forum group.

i have a couple bugs to report that i found when recording:
the goodyear tires always sink into the ground on respawn on maps like syracuse, and zombie hunter has some texture reflection issues. for some reason its reflections are yellow.

Not a bug with tires. It's caused by the new spawning method introduced in 0.6.0.

Unavoidable, and caused by a limitation of the game engine.
That's by design. Specular maps... * sigh *

Zombie Hunter's paint is iridescent in real life, with gold/brass overtones:

That effect is simulated with colored specular maps.

Reflections are overexposed in those ported maps due to the fucked-up ambient lighting.

that reminds me, is there a fix for flat tires always breaking off so easily? every time i get a flat, it always breaks the axle off a couple seconds later. this is a long standing issue.

I explained this before. A flat tire won't break the axle, an exploded tire would. For the tire to explode, the wheel or the hub must take massive damage, so what you see here is a simple chain of events.

And... I'm getting tired of repeating this... The ported maps don't have proper ground models. Obstacles are rigid and sharp even if their looks would make you think otherwise.

It's basically like running on sharp rocks all the time.

From what I understood discussing this future project with him, I believe nothing can be shared with the CRD truck this time.

JBeam from scratch, here we come! :)
