Ignoring the stupid argument being held alongside me, as I have previously stated, I think by this point BeamNG mods are made at such a high standard and require such a diverse list of skills and time, it makes sense for higher quality mods to demand payment.

I never blocked you due to your love for TF2. I get it, really, I feel the same for the Half Life franchise. However, I am also well within my right to block you for any reason whatsoever.
My problem with your account was the fact that you had literal softcore pornography as your profile picture, and switched it to a different one of the same caliber every time you were disciplined by server moderators because of it.
I have no reason to block you on the forums as well, since you no longer have a profile picture. I also frankly don't know why you're so offended by this? We never spoke before I blocked you. If you'd wished to reach out to me, I was and still am available on different platforms.

Look, this will probably be the nicest appeal you're gonna receive from anybody in this thread: this is neither a healthy nor sustainable way to act. This behavior is bad for you, and it is bad for everybody else. You have your opinions, and you have the same right to express them, as others do to disagree with them. But when those opinions entail what you are owed by others, things will get heated, and you're unlikely to feel vindicated when the dust settles. Hell, I've been that person, and I thank my lucky stars I'm not anymore. Just, when things start getting hairy, reflect on yourself and try to see yourself from others' perspectives: "would I respect somebody telling me to do, what I'm telling others they need to do?" And if you still feel like you're in the right or have something to provide the conversation, learn to disagree, not with vitriol, but with grace. Please.

Hm. Never did like that guy. Anyways, the thread topic: I think the main reason paid mods are still an iffy subject is because there are plenty of people on Patreon overcharging for really poor work (usually, the models aren't theirs either and are just "deluxe meshslaps" of a sort). Generally anything thats posted here is rather good though. I think really, like anything, you just need to do your research and take due diligence before spending your money on something in order to avoid disappointment

To pay in excess of the title itself for a substandard add-on that may cease to function in the future requires a special degree of uninformed buyer - typically children. If one were to take a quick gander within this thread, they would quickly realise there is no shortage of individuals with a child-like mentality to take monetary advantage of. Any add-on author is capable of manufacturing a cult of personality, with any follower more than willing to rain money in exchange for social standing in the 'Community Screenshots' thread.

It is no secret the consumer's adoration for their dear authors is why these discussions become so emotional the moment spending habits are questioned. Additionally so if one masquerades as an author seeking their own fame and following all without a shred of the effort.
