Plot twist : the roof weights more than the Already-heavy Pluriel's arch , so it's more if a vinyl roof.

Also , will there be the possibility to transform the Ouverons Into pick-ups , like the C3 Pluriel ?

Speaking of the release of the Cacatron, i have a few things to say related to it's sudden appearance.

Just now i have changed the way how i would give out the brand to the others, as previously it was fine if they would just credited me in the work. This resulted in the creation of the Poop-tron, a mod that in my perspective is just made to hate on my actual attempts of doing a mod (a first one at that), and is just not being a good joke/meme in itself. I know it's supposed to be a joke towards shitty rebadges, but i don't like it for what it's intentions are.

As i spoke with Lichi today (who appeared in my DMs out of the blue), i decided that was not a good idea and now i will allow it's usage ONLY if it meets my personal requirements. They are listed on the CVP's page, however i'll value your time so here's the requirements copied from the page.

Those who's making a mod that want to use the brand Autron, you can, only if...

1. ...you PM me on BeamNG forums (And only here, no Discord, no email).
2. ...you can make it look nicer (either being a good remodel of an existing car or a scratch model) and not like the Xenira mod (aka smaller Pessima MK1) or even this mod.
3. ...it's not a joke mod (e.g. Cacatron).
4. ...it's accurate to the brand's lore (see above).

I will not give the brand's name away if the mod doesn't looks nice. It's going to paint a bad image not only to your mod, but also this mod as well for using the same brand name.

I'm thankful to anyone who asked for the permission to use the name prior to this strict change, at least you're not like the creator of the Cacatron who didn't even warned me about it's usage.

The Xenira and the Cacatron definitely ruined Autron's reputation. Now Autron is known for rebadging older Ibishu cars more than anything.
Now that I think about it, I want to see Autron build and design their own cars instead of rebadging older Ibishu cars, like... I don't know, a second generation Petitron based on the Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1, with Cherrier and Ibishu (or Hirochi) rebadges, with the latter inspired by the Toyota Aygo, maybe? Just sayin', y'know.
Lore-wise, Autron's reputation will recover if Cherrier acquires the brand, now with original car designs while still using some of Autron's parts and other components, like hubcaps, wheel designs, engines, DVD players, and infotainment screens, for example. I'm just hypothetically speaking, you know, and it will fit Autron's lore more.
TL;DR - I want to see Autron design and build their own cars.

 

In the end the cacatron will forever be peak autron.

 

I am thinking of making sort of a shared small city car (similar to Aygo / 107 / C1) that would also use the Autron brand. Hell maybe even some euro van like the Renault Trafic and it's rebadges would use it as well.

Question is when i'll do it is unknown.

 

Forgive me for sounding a little daft but how do you intend to actually enforce this? Will the moderators really remove a mod because it uses Autron without permission? I understand the concept of using someones model or files without permission, however its the concept of a name, which can't really have ownership claimed by anyone unless through copyright, and even then it is still allowed under certain use cases.

Basically what I'm getting at is, if I made a car called the Autron Cacatron 2: Electric Boogaloo can you stop me and how?

the repo testers probably take into account whether or not you give the required credit to make it and probably take into account whether or not the creators of the original work that your adding to allow it

forums however are a lawless wasteland
not even copyright has an effect here (unless your the italian horse brand)

 

I'm just not entirely sure if they would check that you have the creators permission to use the brand name and what qualifies as permission. Like if I just have a 'credits: buddy for name" are the devs going to check if buddy gave permission? If it initially gets approved and then they find buddy didnt give permission for the name will it be removed? There are just a bunch of odd loopholes that should be concretely laid out on how this is to be handled and I don't think the beam team is just willing to go that in depth for naming rights

 

Basically it's how Arima brand usage works, you would only be allowed to use it if you're making something sensible and something that won't destroy this brand's image. Xenira and especially Cacatron went ahead and just ruined the image of the Autron just because it's rebadges of the Ibishu cars and being just an image of a horrible mod, something i really don't want to have it being associated with in the future.

I'm not going to do it with two steps ahead and put a whole copyright on it. And i don't want to budge the moderators on the website to check for the mod that didn't used my permission or something, it's a waste of time for me and for them.

Also, since i do have an update in development for this at the moment, i might as well break the bubble and reveal two important things about it.

First of all, this major update i'm making will be the last major update done to this mod, and from that point forward it'll be the small fixes in case it breaks (either edits of my own or community made fixes). I already hate working on this and thanks to the Cacatron, i want to just end it completely.

Secondly, i'll plan to re-imagine the Autron as yet another French maker, kinda like Renault (i know Charmand exists but it's really outdated and it was replaced by the Cherrier which is more of a Peugeot). Due to how Autron being treated right now, i just want to make it seem better now and not turn it into a whole new meaning for shitty mods.

And as a bonus to start a whole riot here, the update will not include cargo boxes, use Covet for deliveries instead. Okay, bye.

On the other hand, I'm happy to hear that the Petitron will get one final (major) update.
And I'm sorry to hear that people have been misusing your brand like that, it's sad.

 

So sad seeing this message... I am so happy that Autron will receive a major update, even if it's the "last" one (And it's sad, tho). I am so sorry for you, seeing that Cacatron destabilized you so much...
I hope that the new Autron's plan will be a success, you're an awesome modder and you surely make it!!!!

 

I have just published the update of the autron, i decided to scrap some things and just publish it as is, It'll be shit, i know, but i just want to stop working on this thing once and for all.

 

Honestly can't believe this even happened... some automation user just drags some nodes in blender and talks trash about an actual, talented modder and causes all this. I know the admins have been under a lot of pressure with everything going on recently, but this is the kind of thing that kills communities.

Looking forward to whatever comes next, the CrossSport is one of my favorite mods!

 

bit of a silly question but what did the guy even do from what i saw he made a joke mod about french car reliability that is a pessima rebadge using the autron name and crediting them for the name and also named the car in lighter terms trash and from what i know never even mentioned the idea of covet doing anything wrong
