Aarh, i cant thank posts anymore again! What CPU-Z? Try Core Temp, i think it shows CPU speed - - - Updated - - - Tried it on an old E6400 @2.13GHz, pretty crap but not that bad in terms of Mbeams/s/Core/GHz
if you want i could try on some of my older systems(pentium d, dell xps gen 3, core 2 duo lenovo thinkcentre m55e, could be awhile to get results though(most will need a os.) i do have one handy though, will try soon
What we need is a graph in like Google docs or something so we can see all the results. EDIT: Just looked at the first post :/
just did a test with a athlon 64x2 dual core processor 4000+ 2.10 ghz i have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 in it. here are results(high temps due to not having sufficient thermal compound.) should i test any of the other computers?
Would it be possible to throw in a column for price to performance and sort it that way? So like Max Mbeams/s/$ or something like that.
Nope. That is impossible probably until graphene processors bring terahertz processors into computers. I imagine it's 1000 beams.
Results with 10 vehicles. Same CPU as last time - I5 3450, running at 3.1 GHz, although it turboboosts to 3.5 GHz. (imported from here)
Tried my Q6600 stock @2.4GHz, quite the difference. It can just barely cope with 1 car, whereas OC'd to 3.2GHz allows it to manage 3 cars easily. Also the 33% increase in clockspeed almost exactly matched the 33% increase in Max Mbeams/s, thought that was cool.
I had that CPU I will redo this test at 2.4 with my 2500k just to see the improvement of the architecture. Done, at 2,4Ghz:
I may have just bought a used 2500K and motherboard on eBay... Have a bit more money than usual since im at my parents and not paying rent for a few months, so kinda splashed out. Looks like i'll be selling the old Q6600 in the coming weeks. Should get a decent amount for the CPU, motherboard and DDR2 RAM. Cant wait for some decent multi-car BeamNGing.
