    After the release, I got to thinking on how I could work out the locomotion, but with how heavy the Madcat is and how much stress it is under just by standing, it's been difficult to work it out for me. So I decided to try my hand at a smaller battlemech, the Locust! My hope is that with it being a third as heavy, it will be easier to make stable so I can actually start working on real locomotion. It is still quite huge, though at 6.1 meters tall.

    The hardest part is getting a bipedal walker to stay upright between steps. I am in no way an expert on robotics, nor am I very well versed in lua, so my attempts so far involved a slight lean over the planted foot and a massive gyro. I couldn't get the lean to be stable and the gyro had very little effect on the stability. Thus I scrapped the kicking and walking motions for now.

    Here is a size comparison between the two with the D series for scale
