Only part I was aware of loosing was my right mirror... and no! I dont mess with gravity and, I had a couple of mods installed but nothing that I was actively using. I will be backing up my careers periodically from now on, that is for sure.
It uses v1.8 on westcoast. I'll add some challenges (on the new version) and re-upload when I get them done.
Note for BeamNG 0.28 Update: New version breaks beamstate loading for all vehicles with added advanced hinges (openable doors, hoods, etc) so unfortunately this mod can't be played on the new version for now. I don't know if devs are going to fix this issue any time soon as I've reported it when 0.26 dropped and it hasn't been fixed yet. This completely breaks vehicle visual damage saving, so I'm going to spend some time looking at possible workarounds or ways to fix the issue myself. There's probably some more bugs due to changes in 0.28 so I'll be releasing a hotfix in the near future to address problems with the new update.
Well, I'm not updating. Don\t know about other folks...Just got a gtx 1080 mini itx card ! Time to test !!!
So...how does one choose not to update beam ? I see no options. Just to delay and such. So just not run the game from steam ?
Pin it to your bar at the bottom of the screen (the name has escaped me), and then you can play it without updating it, but Steam won’t count your time played --- Post updated --- Edit: the phrase I was looking for is ‘task bar’
Yeah, just don't run from steam I guess, any method. --- Post updated --- So, gtx 1080, ryzen 7 1700x 24gb ram (not the best) and I get an average of 30 fps ???? ultra settings, with the mod. Without it it fluctuates widely from 70 to 30. 1080p cpu is 3.5ghz x8...what's happening here ? This is on west coast. Is it the map ? On utah it's double the performance. average about 50+ still not hitting a perfect 60 consistently. I'll OC my cpu tomorrow and see.
Traffic is usually to blame for the biggest drop. That CPU is quite dated by now especially if you let it run below 4ghz. With my setup I get big FPS drops when looking at trucks in particular and dropping texture quality solved the issue. I don't use ultra settings more like medium quality everything, I prefer smooth gameplay over graphics.
So, gtx 1080, ryzen 7 1700x 24gb ram (not the best) and I get an average of 30 fps ???? ultra settings, with the mod. Yeah. I'l make it work with some settings. I got a massive chain of free repairs while towing. (moonhawk+bought parts) It stopped for now.
Feature request. Can a "bank loan" be implemented hassle free ? Random min max capped rates ? max amount 1k maybe, or rep dependent ?
It should be easy to add but sounds quite overpowered unless limited to small amounts, about 1k like you said could work as a sort of emergency loan if you wreck your last car.
Yeah. Just for a last resort. You can also make it a "once a week" or a few days deal. If you have a bad run, it's all over..lol, people that want an absolute hardcore experience, not even using a career load, are few I think. Once you put some time and buy parts, get some progress in, it's hard to let go...lol Raced a gold tier scintila when my car was not up for it, got smoked in the first second...lol
Version 1.9.1 has been uploaded, this hotfix for BeamNG 0.28 temporarily disables beamstate loading by default to workaround the advanced coupler issues. The option menu contains two relevant buttons: the first one is a toggle for beamstate loading while the second button can be used to attempt fixing advanced couplers if you decide to turn beamstates back on. It's not a guaranteed fix and will likely crash your game at some point but it does seem to work for clean, undamaged vehicle beamstates. Here is the changelog: Added beamstate loading toggle option (workaround for advanced coupler problem) Added button to attempt to fix hinges after beamstate loading (may crash game) Fixed traffic pooling amount calculation Updated level files for new BeamNG version To give a bit more details about the issue, I haven't managed to find out exactly what causes it but I think its related to the fact that advanced couplers seem to be working using nodes that sit in the same location to lock them together when panels are closed. This probably doesn't work well with the beamstate loading function that force sets beams and nodes to restore vehicle shape. Maybe the game thinks nodes are colliding when this happens without knowing they're advanced coupler nodes. So when physics kick in physic system tries to move them which breaks the coupler function. Calling reset() on the relevant couplers fixes them but like I said it can still crash the game. For hoods the "hoodCatchCoupler" must be reset before "hoodLatchCoupler", not sure if there are setups with even more steps to the coupler function but I'm assuming they'd also need to be reset in a specific order to work properly. Overall I'm hopeful devs will manage to fix this, I noticed yesterday that the issue had been added to the list of known issues they're currently investigating. So if this ends up getting fixed in a BeamNG hotfix you will be able to turn beamstates back on with the options menu. I'll probably keep the option in the mod even after the issue has been fixed since it can be useful to workaround other beamstate related issues such as wheels falling off due to beamstate file corruption. The toggle only disables beamstate loading so files are still being saved.
Can you remove "quick travel" from the map menu? Sometimes it fills your tank 100 % and it's quite unrealistic to have with this mod I think
Yes it does. The overview map where you can see all the icons and choose quick travel to places --- Post updated --- Also when I choose "call tow truck" my car gets fixed for free. I still have to pay 50 dollars for the tow, but the car is brand "new" again. Is this perhaps a difficulty setting? On the other hand, the game would be very difficult if you needed to pay for total damage
Wow, map doesn't work for me. I'll check again. Also, for the tow truck fixing your car, it happens sometimes. I'm on the previous version so might be a little different. Most of the times it doesn't fix it, but sometimes you might have a string of free fixes. These are bugs. Just tested 1.9, beam 0.27, map doesn't work. Maybe you have mods that make it work ?
Also when I choose "call tow truck" my car gets fixed for free. I still have to pay 50 dollars for the tow, but the car is brand "new" again. Is this perhaps a difficulty setting? On the other hand, if Perhaps. But I don't have any special gameplay mods. Just some cars and sirens graphical mods. --- Post updated --- Also I can't find the start location for the West Coast map. It says it should be on a gas station, but I can't find the place to start the mission. I do run Freeroam, that is correct right? Not supposed to start the sandbox career?
The westcoast map is my addition. Not part of the mod itself. It's at the garage (east) I run 170+ mods, and map doesn't work or show when I enter beamlr
