    Just released a new video showing off the new race track event system that will be added with version 1.10 of the mod.


    Track events are unlocked by gaining reputation and can be entered by paying a join fee. Unlike regular club races events can have multiple opponents and rounds making for a longer competition with different rewards depending on the player's final position. Rewards include money, reputation but also parts and vehicles just like race clubs. Final position is calculated using total race time from each round, which will be shown on a leaderboard window updated at the end of each race. Opponent names on leaderboards are randomly picked from a file, for this video the file contains 1950 & 1960 F1 driver names as an example.

    During race events repairs and refuels are free but will not reflect in the player's garage. Vehicles that are registered to active events cannot be edited, sold or scrapped by the player. A tuning menu is available during race events allowing for tuning changes to be made before round start.

    Some tracks feature a pit lane which can be used once per lap to repair damage and refuel to the tuning fuel load. The pit lane has a speed limit that gives a time penalty during overspeed. Some tracks can also have shortcut penalties for cutting through grass. Penalty time is added to the final time at the end of a round.

    Each race event has different joining requirements not only for rep and money but also vehicle characteristics like power class, brand, model, induction (Natural, Turbo, Supercharger) and powertrain (FWD, RWD, AWD). In order to help build vehicles for race events a new menu opens while editing parts that shows current performance values like power, torque, weight and performance class. It also has a reference page showing the performance value needed for each class. This means that some events can be very specific, for instance events limited to a specific brand that also reward a vehicle of this same brand.

    Regular player health is not enabled during race events, however fatal crashes (and thus career reset) are still possible albeit at a higher impact force than regular races due to the implied wearing of helmets during race events.

    This system will be used to make the SLRR like final boss race event with a high join cost and top performance opponent, rewarding a "supercar" when the event is won (most likely a Scintilla or Bolide). It could also be used to make different types of events like multi vehicle drag races.

    Keep in mind this is the first iteration of this system, many features can be added and other improvements will likely be made in future updates. The amount of available events will also increase as updates are made, for first release my goal is to add Hirochi Raceway and Automation Test Track events, starting with vanilla maps before adding other modded tracks previously shown using the race system that isn't tied to BeamLR.

    Wow! I'm very much looking forward to the track update. An impressive addition to an already impressive mod! I put quite a few hours in this weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. I'm nearly through the gold leagues in Utah! I thought I'd let you know of a couple bugs/issues I encountered, apologies if they've been mentioned before.

    -I could not get a vehicle paint change to save, it would revert back after the next reload/config change
    -Vehicle's mileage reverting to zero after some config changes (I was able to sell Grandpa's old car for almost $8,000 because of this :p )
    -Using the tow truck often repairs damage and/or reverts repair cost to $0

    This is just a personal preference, but I wish the day/night scale was faster or changeable. I'm a greatly enjoying this mod and thankful of all the hard and clever work you are putting in!

    Idea: Is it possible to change ai behavior to 'chase' once 3 stars are attained ? but as a %chance, so not everybody chases you.
    Yeah, some bugs are persistent. I also had the odo reset on me on several cars. So, it's the config updates as in tuning or parts ? Tow reset also happens. Paint works for me but I do see it revert back to the original for a few secs, then it switches. Day night is REALTIME. you can choose how long you sleep for. It takers rep every time tho, so don't do 1 hour..lol

    Back to that idea of having a restriction on buying parts, you think it'd be interesting to have "REP" requirements for buying parts ? So, just using an existing system for further progression, this also negates the ODO reset bugs where combined with many Ks of rep you can buy low and sell high.

    So, have rep minimums for part prices. so, you want a stage 3 turbo, you need x rep. maybe 500 rep, balance is needed but at least you can have the system in place and tweak the balance later.

    Just got an idea about nights/rep/sleep. Have an incentive not to sleep to much in a row, (loose more rep the more you sleep) meaning, if you sleep during certain hours in the day, loose more rep, nights less. also how many times in a row you sleep (more rep) Don't forget to maybe ad sound effects to buying parts and overall tuning apply, repair, etc...

    Repair from towing is a known bug, paint saving issue and odometer reset on part edits has not happened to me yet, both seem to be random so hard to reproduce. Not sure if you're playing with any mods but before reporting issues make sure they happen when playing without other mods. You can back up your userfolder and install just the mod in a fresh userfolder. I'll keep in mind time scale option for next update, it should be very simple to add. Thanks for the feedback!

    As I mentioned previously sleep isn't intended as a roleplay mechanic. It's just there as a fast forward button to refresh shop vehicles. Rep loss already happens when the day changes as an incentive to not use the fast forward function to always get the best shop prices.

    Drifting in this game is pretty hard even with good setups but I completed one with traffic enabled on video for the feature demonstration and completed all of them using the vanilla drift config sunburst to make sure the challenges are possible. Start with lower point targets to see how many points you can get with your car for a particular challenge. The point system is a vanilla flowgraph node that gives tons of points for chaining drifts. Keep long drifts going and the points start climbing faster, if you keep it going long enough you can hit the point target in a single drift and just drive to the finish. Wall proximity isn't worth the risk but also gives points faster.

    Great to know ! Thanks. Using an i6 stage 3 turbo moonhawk, drift tires, 800PS or so, but can't hold a long drift.

    Thanks very much for the reply! My apologies, I should have considered mods causing bugs before I reported. Appreciate you considering time scale settings, I think it would really help the immersion factor.

    Is it possible to have an active career in both Utah and ECUSA? I have an active career in Utah and I tried to load the scenario in ECUSA but it didn't load with a car or the ability to walk anywhere, and I had the same amount of money/rep from Utah. Just curious if I missed something.

    Also about sleeping etc. I don't think this belong in BeamNG. = any mod that implements sleeping / eating / drinking into the game just makes it tedious and annoying. It sounds good on paper, but even in DayZ it's annoying.
    If it were to be implemented at least make it realistic so you don't have to do it every 5 minute.
    And about the day / night cycle = would be cool if the mod remembered what time of day / night it is when you save / exit the game. Because every time I load it up it's 12:00 clock day time.
    I also hate it when game has too fast day / night cycle = day is too short usually and night feels too long. At least make it optional to follow your computer clock or at least real time.

    It is real time tho, no ? i.e 24h cycle, not following your pc clock tho.Sleep has the main function to CYCLE SHOP CARS ! I guess he could drop it if time cycles on a different scale, and shops auto cycle...It's not really a bother. But that's just me.

    Yeah sleep is a just a mechanic to advance time and change available vehicles for sale, certainly not a necessity or need.

    Is it possible to tab to the opponent car after the race has finished ? It'd be interesting to see your opponent if stuck or crashed. btw, the gold class vivace is a monster ! I barely won witn my 784PS moonhawk by him crashing into the middle, and my steering/others were unaffected...lol What config is he using ? Has short gears and huge grip.

    Some scarp cars have engines (maybe mod engines not sure) that won't allow you to build it, creates damage.

    The mod should save current time when you stop the mission through the BeamNG mission UI that shows up when you hit ESC. I'm only guessing but I think you might be using backup buttons before quitting, then again when you start playing. So you're reloading a mainData file that never saved current time.

    Backup buttons aren't a save feature, it copies career files to a different folder but that doesn't mean they're up to date with what you see on your screen, some values like current time are only written to file when you properly stop the mission. I really need to add a note about this in the options menu, I feel there's a lot of confusion about what backup does.

    No, that's just easy to use as an exploit when you're losing a race and if I enable entering other vehicles the game likes to teleport us into traffic during garage switch. Just check with world editor, you can even see what config the AI is using.

    Not sure what might be wrong here, east coast scenario is exactly the same as utah one so even without map interactive spots it should load your car. Backup your career and reset, try loading into both east coast and utah with a fresh career to see if that works. If not try a fresh install in a clean userfolder, make sure you carefully follow instructions, if it still doesn't work please let me know.

    I have an idea about the rep system. Given that after reaching a few Ks of rep you can sell cars for a STRONG profit using rep+lower odo cars, I think you should set a negative rep when you buy cars (deduct rep after buying a car based on car price) so for scarp it's 0, used, from a range, 800$-8000$ x amount deducted with higher price. And new cars have the highest loss. You can change cycles and buy cars sell them and make big $ like this. So you should only be able to do this at a decreased rate the more you do it, so you're forced to race for $. What do you think ?

    Negative rep from buying cars means just because you bought a new car the game removes a ton of progress towards unlocking events. I'd rather just tweak the sell price calculation so that it's not possible to profit from selling cars. I never intended selling for profit to be a thing, that's just an effect of BeamNG part prices being so high compared to the purchase prices.
