This is indeed a problem as the benchmark won't be able to find your BeamNG installation. (It's currently looking at the default steam path, will think about a better way)
This should not make it crash though. I'll investigate.

True, maybe I should explain the number of possible vehicles a bit more (ie. with reference to FPS or so)

Indeed, made some changes, will release a new version soon. :)

Have no fear the internet is here. Simply search out what component you would like to run faster, RAM, CPU, GPU, HyperTransport what have you, and increase your cooling capacity. Certainly it depends on what components you have. Some parts accel* at overclocking better than others, a lot of it is about how much time you put into it. Be careful though, it can become as addicting as checking the BeamNG Forums for new posts.

A secret of socket cooling: When removing stock syncs their components still need the same cooling. Place fans near Voltage Regulation Modules for a healthy motherboard and keep air flow around the socket.

I have just released an update (Beta 2 in the first post) with some important changes:

    • App doesn't need to be installed in BeamNG directory anymore (see updated installation instructions in the first post)
    • Hardware specs will now upload with proper trademark and copyright symbols instead of their text representation
    • Duplicate spaces and tabs in hardware specs are properly removed now
    • Before running a benchmark, a list of potential problems is displayed currently including:
      • Active power plan, if not set to high performance the app will complain
      • Windows uptime, if last reboot is longer than 24h ago, the app will also complain
      • Currently selected CPU frequency, to prevent wrong values from being used, the app will ask the user if the detected value is correct instead of relying on the user to check this value on his own
      • If you have further suggestions for this list, please let me know

Next, I'd like to implement some sort of color coding for desktops and laptops, so the app can be easier used as a debug tool for performance issues.

Let me know what you think :)

    One question:
When i upgrade my stuff to some of the latest processors and a totally new screen card, what will my benchmark be?

It will be around 7-8000 KRONER ~ 1000$ upgrade :)
    (All tho 1000$ isnt much..)

    Specs i got now:
I5 & AMD Radeon 7700 (I5 is ok, but AMD is getting old!)

A nice thing to add will be the "Path to BeamNG.drive folder", so we could manually set correct game path if the benchmark couldnt find it.
For example, I extracted benchmark in "D:\BananaBenchmark_1_4_29_902", Steam is in "D:\Program Files\Steam", OS Win7SP1 x64, Steam is running - "Can't find BeamNG Installation Directory" error.

UPD: Maybe you could get Steam installation directory from registry and define BeamNG folder as a relative path?
    32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Valve\Steam\InstallPath
    64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Valve\Steam\InstallPath

    Or from here:
Same path for both 32 and 64-bit: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Steam\SteamPath

Well, since you want to upgrade everything at once you can't really go for the very best CPU (Intel i7 59xxK), but I guess a nice high-end mainstream CPU is possible. That would bring you to something like 70-80MBeam/s.

Good idea, I will implement this asap. :)

Could CPU clock frequency be included in the graph presentation? I ask mainly because it would be interesting to see how stock turbo boost
compares to manually overclocked systems although the answer is probably beyond obvious. Would look nice anyway.
You've done a nice job with this!

I am not entirely sure if I understand you correctly, because the clock speed is already included in the graph view (even though if you JUST looked at it, it might be missing due to a new release that's about to come and some DB changes related to that).
Anyway, here is what it currently looks like:

I just released a new version of my BananaBenchmark app, here's the changelog:

I think that's it for now. Download is in the first post. :)

As always, let me know what you think and what I can potentially improve or implement. :D

I've been working on a new way to share your results here in the forum (or any forum that supports BB code):

    (imported from here)

It's basically a dynamically generated image which displays a short summary of your result and which is linked to the details of that result.
There will be a dedicated button or so to create the required BB code so you can paste it in a forum post.

    The code looks like this:

    Code:
    [ url=beamng.software-enkler.com/v2/displaybench.php?token=5545d73dabaeb][ img]http://beamng.software-enkler.com/v2/benchoverview-5545d73dabaeb.png[/img][/url]
I am also thinking about creating such a solution for custom signatures that always display your best score automatically. What do you think? :)

I agree the sig size should be a bit more discreet but I like it. My 4810MQ appears to be rather good for a laptop. Would it be possible to
break out the laptops from desktops?....that would be cool. Also, the benchmark is seeing the "stock" 2.8GHZ for my CPU when in fact
the turboboost takes it to 3.8GHZ constantly on BeamNG. I'm assuming the overall bench score is including total overall CPU performance
and the program seeing the stock speed doesn't affect it's actual performance. Hope that makes sense....:p

Well, that's what the settings tab is for. There seems to be no sane way of actually getting the real maximum CPU Speed on modern Intel CPUs, so the app will always detect the base frequency.
You can however overwrite this value in the settings. And yes, of course this does not influence the actual result at all.

    Ok, better now?

Not bad at all :) Once i get some RAM proper overclocking can be done.

The person running 4700mq must have not run it optimally, i got 10mbeams more
    benchmark 2015-05-23 17-15-38.png
I even beat a few good desktops, i got 65mb just before running the stock banana bat, i'll see if i can get that
