That is amazing. It is just like the late 80's early 90's educational videos (on VHS) that you still get in schools sometimes, because they 'paid for them once, and will get their money's worth, dammit.'
Nice, kinda reminds me of the same concept used on the R30 Skyline. however, by definition, a coupe needs to have 2 doors, so this would be a liftback, not a coupe. That said, Rover once made a low roofline, 4 door P5 and called it a "coupe", so I suppose it does not matter too much...
Actually, a 'Coupé' means a car in which the distance between driver hip joint and rear axle is quite short, basically it means the car with front seat that is quite close to the rear wheels, in turn left a very little space for any useful doors. Some, like the SAE or NHTSA considered a coupé to be a car with less than 33 cubic feet of rear-seat volume to be a Coupé. They don't considered the distance between the seat and the rear wheels or even doors at all. So the 4 doors Mazda RX-8 was considered a Coupé, while 2 doors Cadillac Coupe de Ville wasn't. But you know, technical correctness will always be beaten by the usages.
The new Charger is advertised as a coupe, and it's actually a sedan... - - - Updated - - - Here, have more photoshop:
This looks nothing like a Dodge Charger: (imported from here) Yet you are looking at an '84 Dodge Charger Shelby edition It's all in the marketing I guess. I think that '84 "Moonhawk" looks good. Different design but the same "luxury" coupe idea.
It's a Charger all right. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Charger_(L-body) Basically Charger was on the L platform and Daytona was on the G platform. It was similar to Daytona styling wise, My dad had a Daytona when I was young, better looking than Charger IMO. Cool car for the time. I also love all the crappy Shelby stuff Chrysler had in the 80's.
Sorry for quoting the pic too, but I think it's just so cool. I would buy that car if we ever had them in Finland... Those 80s mid-size coupes were something ridiculously unnecessary, yet so cool! At least they are exotic here, as in whole Europe.
In some respects yes, however unlike the 80's models, the new Chargers definitely have some styling cues taken from the late 60's Chargers, such as the rear tail lights and some of the body lines. Also some of the new Chargers have big V8's and rear wheel drive. The 80's Chargers had FWD and the biggest engine was a 2.2L I4. Not exactly what I would call a muscle car. At least they were 2 door and 2+2 seating, of course having 4 doors makes it more practical. Also here is the latest issue of 4 Wheel Drive Magazine. I like It. (imported from here)
Wow, Looks like something franky would write from that show called housos. That was pretty funny, Good on ya.
So, when the LeGran comes out, I'll try to make this. It'll have front wheel drive, a 150-hp V6 with optional supercharger, and an optional 5.0l V8 with around 180 hp. Crapbox supreme
Waiting for both! I've had a long-time crush on the 4th gen Toronado (especially 1986-1989 model before facelift), I hope the LeGran will have an optional digital instrument cluster in traditional 1980s style The LeGran among others has been in progress quite a while, not to mention the race update. Everything has its own pace though..
Sorry for the bump, but decided to make this before the release. It's based on a few Pontiac ads from the 90s.
