The app still has a non working UI. Stuck at displaying 46mph, 86 mi on the odo, etc. It controls just fine. Galaxy s5 running android 5.1.1. Game is updated and I have version 2 of the app.
Make sure you actually launch version 2 of the app. It will have made a new icon ect. it shouldnt be possible for it to not update anymore. It will either work or crash. If it didnt ask you for permission to use the camera, youre not using the right version of the app, thats a good way to tell
I uninstalled the old one. It works, and I can control the car but the UI is still static. I can see the sensitivity option, and the units switcher.
Can you post a screenshot? Oh wait, do you have outgauge enabled in the gameplay options in BeamNG? Edit: i bet thats the issue, i just tested it and with outgauge disabled the ui doesnt update. Enable it in options > gameplay in BeamNG and then do a full reset of your vehicle (ctrl+r) and try again. Guess we need to make that more clear that the app uses Outgauge or make it enabled automatically once you enable the app
In all the previous versions I was controlling my vehicle with my Huawai P9 lite, but since this and the previous update, it doesn't work anymore. At first I was happy to see, that now finally the dashboard in the app was working, but simultaneously I was disappointed, because the input didn't work at all. Somehow the xaxis is randomly freaking out, button1 is somehow pressed with 50% strength continuously and button0 only activates the brakes when I press it. Also when I turn left, it accelerates. When I don't do anything, it just drives around as if it was an AI gone mad.
What are the chances that I happen to own the same phone and am just testing the new app. For me though it works just fine, haven't had any issues. (though I suck at driving with it) If it matters, my P9 Lite is stock and isn't rooted Edit: Now that I've tested it a bit more, my only gripe/question is about my phone "disconnecting" when changing maps. On a new map it says "controller unplugged" Is it supposed to happen or a bug of some sort? Otherwise fine work!
I noticed on the android version, none of the gauges are set to the car. The tacho still red lines at 6.8k for the t series. Is it planned to have the gages be vehicle specific? Also the abs and parking brake lights do not activate. Hazards and headlights work fine.
This sounds like you have another input causing problems. IE if you try to use an xbox controller and your phone at the same time it can cause problems like this because they will fight each other for control. Hmm yeah youre right, seams to be input LUA issue (BeamNG side, not app side) I will look into it thanks for the report Make sure you are on the same network as the computer. Not using 4g or guest wifi or anything, has to the be the same exact wifi This sounds like you have another input causing problems. IE if you try to use an xbox controller and your phone at the same time it can cause problems like this because they will fight each other for control. Issues like this can also arise if youre hitting an input on the keyboard while the controller is connecting or something similar Also yes i can confirm that the IOS version was accepted this morning and is available on the store link: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/beamng.drive-remote-control/id1163096150?mt=8
The first post hasn't been updated in nearly a month. Also my issue isn't there. Two lights do not work, the ABS and the parking brake. My other complaint is with the discrepancy in the red line. In game the T series has a redline of 2.5k, while in the app the redline is at 6.8k for all vehicles. The covet can go up to 8k I think, and the app does not support that. I'd just like it if the app updated the tacho so the redlines and top speeds matched with the vehicle in game.
Yes there are some less important things we haven't gotten to yet, getting the app fixed and out there on both platforms was more important. In the coming weeks we will work to make it feature complete and make changes based on user feedback
I don't use any other controllers than my keyboard (and mouse). I didn't have anything else plugged in at the moment when I had the issue. --- Post updated --- My P9 lite is also stock and it also disconnects when I change the map, but that's a rather minor problem I suppose...
Submitted an update to both apps, Android will be live any moment, IOS will be live whenever they approve it Change logs Android: Code: Fixed sensitivity bar being able to go all the way to 0 Removed decimals from delay display to make it easier to read Adjusted ui a bit so the speed text doesnt overlap anything if for some reason the apps font doesnt load IOS: Code: Added back button to disconnect from the game and go back to qr scanner (also useful if for some reason it drops connection) Fixed bug that would cause a random disconnect due to a dropped udp packet Removed decimals from delay display, also added a bit more smoothing to it Fixed sensitivity bar being able to go to 0 Fixed bug that caused rotating the device past 90 to cause less steering Fixed app being able to send values past BeamNG input limits (0 to 1) Made default sensitivity 0.5 instead of 1
iOS remote app loses connection after 5 seconds of connecting. It also doens't show any information on the screen. Edit: I haven't recieved the update so that might fix the issues.
The update will fix the connection drop yes, it hasn't been approved yet. Enable outgauge in the games settings to make the ui update
