I have been hearing a lot about Beamng Drive for mac. I don't know what to believe, and what not to believe. I have a pretty fast mac computer, I just wanted to know when and if beamng drive is going to come out for Mac. Does anyone know anything?
There's a reason why there aren't a whole lot of games with Mac versions because Macs can't handle gaming
thats just total bullshit. the reason that there are not a lot of mac games is that they dont have a high enough market share - so it doesnt make sense for publishers to release mac versions of their games. a mac pro or a higher end macbook pro should be able to play most games without issues from a hardware standpoint. --- Post updated --- if you want to game on your mac just install windows via bootcamp. that way will be able to switch between mac os and native windows. its pretty easy to do, the software (bootcamp) is already installed on every mac.
Yup, BootCamp is the way to go... this is how I play BeamNG on my Mac... no issues either... runs smooth as silk.
No. That's not even close to being the reason. Macs are extremely limited in capacity due to Apple not making their computers easy to work on and modify like most PCs are. Besides that, BeamNG requires a fairly good computer to run, and most if not all Macs are going to struggle to handle the load BeamNG would put on them
Well, before we get into this whole war or who runs what... @MonkeyPlayz... can you upload your system specs for your Mac? Just go up to the apple at the top left, click it, and then there should be an option like "About this Mac" or something like that.
The Macbook pro has a GPU unsuitable for even light gaming. Mac Pro has an OK GPU but is literally the only apple machine to do so and it's still a mid range gpu at best
Semi off-topic, can you upgrade a Mac's GPU/do they have Mac drivers for other GPUs? --- Post updated --- Chrome OS? No.
Mac driver support for other GPUs is iffy at best. No support for external GPU on thunderbolt without hacks, apple won't let AMD and nvidia publish full driver packages and the pro uses a proprietary connector
THIS!!! I did this with my mac desktop and it works amazing! I've played many different games on my mac after installing windows with bootcamp and it works perfect, MOST games graphics are always on high or more, fantastic frame rate, good loading times. Any one thinking of doing this SHOULD do it.
extremely limited in capacity? only because you cant upgrade a pc that doesnt mean it lacks performance. the publisher doesnt give a shit if a computer is "easy to work on". if there was a demand for games on mac os they would be released on mac os, simple as that. beamng runs fine on newer imacs/macbooks - and so do most games. maybe you have never used an apple computer but i can assure you they use the same hardware as other pc's. --- Post updated --- not really. you can run most modern games on a recent macbook pro. sure - you have to run pretty low settings and resolutions but that is to be expected from a laptop not designed for gaming.
