I've examined the overhead.skp file. It doesn't appear that you followed the workflow I posted?! If you find something about the workflow confusing you should ask about it. EDIT: Maybe you were confused when I said "Create material" and paint bucket. Those were not euphemisms. I meant "Click on the paint bucket, go to Materials and hit the 'Create Material...' button" and then proceed from there.
That one I did not do the workflow on yet. But I did do the workflow on the terminal sign already but it still flickers in BeamNG.
Sure, it doesn't really look like the real thing but ok, I tried... EDIT: You know what, the current bridge is a disaster and complete fail. I'll try re modeling it.
Nope, same problem. Maybe you forgot to save or something, but this 'terminal sign.skp' file from the link you gave is still just a photo plastered on top of another material. Study the workflow.
So I applied the texture to the terminal sign by adding it as a material then using the paint bucket. Now the texture of the sign is tiled. Is it a matter of resizing the picture itself now?
No, your picture was already sized correctly. When you setup the material you setup the size. I mentioned that in the instructions. You can go back and change the material.
Here's a different angle on that bridge in real life. Here it's more obvious how gentle the grade is. Some of the content creation stuff in the wiki recommends using concept drawings when creating assets. That's good advise, although in this case you could have simply referred to the pictures. Doing a bunch of work without looking at any reference material often leaves you where you ended up.
I measured the length and width of the extruded sign area, and made a new material with that texture and size, but it is the right size but not the right location.

The good news: You're making progress. Looks like you're almost there. The bad news: Your question was covered in the instructions. Are my instructions really that bad?
LOL, I should read more carefully. OMG OMG OMG it worked!! Just had to re export it from Sketchup a couple times... No more flickering or no texture for this baby...
Also solved the flickering problem for this sign too just now. In real life it looks like the below picture, but my terrain will not be that complex. Just look at it texture-wise. Now I need to fix the awful bridge...
You need to take your time when modeling. Your models are not bad, but they are far from great. That overhead airport sign also looks really bad. The textures are OK, but the detail is not there. I advise you make textures for more than just the sign faces aswell. When modeling, dont rush it. Take your time, think out and probably draw out what you want to do.
And also too, if you get more into textures, you can cut out a ton of polygons with a great texture, atleast if you know what you are doing. But at this point, model it, as for sketchup is quite "Sketchy" when it comes to textures.
Yeah, I was thinking of making the terminal just one big texture on a box except for the exterior (benches, posts, people, hanging signs, etc.)
Although I have seen quite a few vehicles in the Warehouse that actually are just photographs mapped over a simple mesh. Get used to modeling first, then try to cut out polygons by learning how to texture what you have worked on.
