BeamNG Pre-Race Update - Reviews Center

    CrashRpt1402.dll shows up as malware on my computer. I already tried excluding it from the antivirus, but it keeps blocking it, and it causes BeamNG not to open at all.

    turn your antivirus off entirely, exclusions are unreliable

    i think you tried to load meshes from other levels? Make sure you stay within the level folder with the resources. Then it should work (otherwise the materials are not loaded correctly as you have found out) :)

    You can change the controls in BeamNG\scripts\client\inputmaps\. Look for the one that has your controller in it:
    Xbox 360 wired controller is 028E045E.inputmap.cs.
    Xbox 360 wireless controller is 6F1D2B61.inputmap.cs
    Then there's an input map that doesn't say wheither it's wired or wireless called 531A24C6.. I'd just ignore that and go with the wired/wireless because I dunno what the other one is :p

    Now create a folder inside /inputmaps/ named "custom", paste the inputmap for your controller in there, and start changing it. You can open the file in Notepad or Notepad++(probably safer as normal Notepad sometimes screws up the file formatting), just be sure to save it with the correct extension. By putting it in custom, you made sure the game will not change it once you update.


    As for resetting vehicles: Vehicles always reset facing the same direction actually, they always face "north"(or whatever side it is that they face, I assume north). This is due to the node/beam nature of the game, the nodes are bound to a coordinate system. If you have to rotate the car, it has to "rotate" and thus change all the coordinates for each and every node(a few hundred) and rotate the meshes and keep it all lined up, which is very hard code apparantly. It also has to remember the rotation you had before you resetted, which I imagine isn't easy either. I think they might add it at some point but I remember tdev has said that it's extremely difficult for them to make that.

    So i downloaded the Alpha.

    i have to say i was stunned at first, it looked so beautiful.

    Then i realised it had defaulted to max settings for some reason (RIP in peace framerate)

    Once id got the framerate back under control its been fun playing around.

    Oh one thing id like to report though, changing some of the graphics settings (namely Shader Quality) crashes the game.

    So I can't use the textured jersey barrier from the industrial level in the gridmap level?...strange because I did exactly that without issue before the pre-race update. I'm very intrigued now. Did something change or have I just
    been incredibly lucky??:eek: And yes dummiesman, I did indeed use the static from industrial map.

    Tdev, is this subject related to texture sharing problems?

    the only problem i have (aside from no controller respawn button) is that when i load dry rock island it says "failed to create resource Tree canopy.dae" or something similar but all my other maps work fine but i would say that it would be nice to have a slow motion button on the controller to do what Alt+down does but have it be a on-off toggle and have it where you hold D-pad button with the slow mo button to make it faster or slower but not realtime because its toggle i myself would like the slow mo button be the Y button on the xbox controller or be the left stick click or something

    Pros: It sounds interesting and seems like some great improvements happened.

    Cons: I cant get it to work, so i'll take your word for it.

    I don't know if that's normal, but I'm starting to notice that the time it takes to load the Level Selection menu after you press Play always increases. The game froze for about 15 seconds now before it showed me that menu <.<
    I have 38 Maps including the official maps. That could be a cause?

    I complained before about losing a few fps in every map, and I realized it is the ui. I actually have exactly the same FPS in Dry Rock Island (even though it looks better now) but the ui is eating 8 fps...

    So:

    Pros:

    -Mostly everything is better

    Cons:

    -ui performance

    -handling still not right at high speeds, for example, I can't do the moose test, unless I put gravity at -20 m/s^2...

    +Small island looks awesome. mine doesn't have black water though.
    +Steering the vehicles has improved alot.
    +Ibishu pigeon is hilariously unstable ;).
    +The new ui is awesome.
    +You guys are awesome!
    +the slow motion looks actually slow motion.

    +Also, you can't tell me this doesn't look awesome.

    +-Particle effects are awesome... but they lack at some parts, like when entering water at high speed it looks like this; there should be splashing particle effects when entering water – Kopio.jpg
    it would be awesome if it would look like this; like this..jpg awesome painting skills are awesome


    -when i'm at some random parts of the island this random green circle/ball appears inside my car greensh1t.jpg but that may just be a problem in my game.

    -the loading screen freezes at times, maybe instead of making it actually 3D you could make it a continuous video loop..


    Sorry if i'm demanding too much of you guys.

    I have 60+ maps and it takes 35+ seconds to load up the level selection screen.

    Hey just thought I would throw this out there. Material bug ( or screw up) found on D15, diffuse 2 is using the pickup_c_alt instead of pickup_c causing colored bumpers.

    Whoops, didn't mean to commit that change. But yes, that's optional colored bumpers. You might notice the Covet is also using a c_alt map to have colored bumpers. You can have black bumpers if you revert it to using the regular color map.

    The game now crashes to desktop at random with no warning or explanation. Spawn a car, crash. Drive a car into a wall, crash. Drive into water, crash. Reset car position, crash.

    No rhyme or reason to it, and no explanation. Window just closes. No bug report. It doesn't happen all the time, and it's only an annoyance when it does happen, but it's still a bug.

    I'm pretty sure you could never do this unless the object was also in the level you are currently using. Afaik gridmap used to have the old barriers but they were removed.

    I most definitely had the two types of jersey barriers in the gridmap level that eventually I turned into a custom map called gridmap2. The rusty weathered textured barrier was my fav. I loaded up the old program
    to show a little test area I was screwing around with in the early days. I also opened the editor to show how gridmap has no barriers of this type in it's art folder and the screen shows this. Behind the editor menu is
    is the jersey barrier with screwed up textures. Now I know this sounds suspicious but these textures mysteriously started doing this about a month before the pre-race update. I swear upon gods green earth I had fully textured
    jersey barriers ever since I bought the game back in August 13'.

    I'm not trying to argue but I know what I saw and what I did and the textured jersey barriers were successfully taken from the industrial map and put into the gridmap. It's the only reason why I was wondering I couldn't do it
    today.

    my Problem is that the game crash now after 15-20 minutes every time
    And the other problem is that some cars now after a fast speed crash loose there engine like moonhawk or ibishu covet.
    That nice but its not nice when the beams stay together when the engine fly away.

    A other question
    Can I take now older grand marshal versions or are they too different now?
