Here's something i put together while ago, where I compare BeamNG crash physics to Real Life and i gotta say, 97% match. Just saying, nice work BeamNG team for making damage so realistic in a game
Unfortunetely it's hard to find vehicles that match the real cars, also 100mp/h crash was hard, because not all BeamNG vehicles go that fast, had to use what i had. I'm planning on making another one in future, with as matching cars as possible, including color ..etc. Also finding good HD clips of real crashes is difficult.
While this may look realistic, it's completely off since those stolen Russian mods use the jbeam from the default in-game cars.
Indeed, but locating the full HD video clip of that .. don't think its possible. it looks like its from 70s / 80s and surely that ain't HD. I found a clip of ford focus crash test, but best i found was like 300x400 or something, that's useless for a good video. If anyone has good HD material of real life crash testing, please let me know, i'd like to make new and even more realistic video of this Maybe in few years i can do it myself, but those high-speed (slow motion, 30000fps) cameras cost a lot of money. Getting old car to crash is easy enough.
Those stolen models slapped on the grand marshall's n/b don't exactly show off the physics of BeamNG very well, you should use official vehicles only.
Why does everyone assume that people from Russia have no clue how to mod....? Those mods are obviously more than MOST of the members here can accomplish, including MOST of the members that are calling the Russians hacks... It's been well established that the only reason they were "acquiring" the game through other than honest means was because of their purchasing system, which is not their fault. We also have Russian members here, so, do you think we could stop bashing them in such a stereotypical and frankly racist manner? Wtf already... Anyway, back on topic...cool video dude!
It's not like that, But you say "Those mods are obviously more than MOST of the members here can accomplish" Well, it isn't very much work, they just take a model from another game instead of making it themselves, then put it on the Grand Marshalls n/b, then upload it to a unofficial website without giving any credit where credit is needed. The website where most are uploaded is Russian, and that is why they are called "Russian Mods". "don't use russian mods, they are NOT realistic, because they use grand marshal jbeams on everything" Not Racism "Meh, you used them russian mod little crap things." Not Racism "While this may look realistic, it's completely off since those stolen Russian mods use the jbeam from the default in-game cars." Not Racism Though we do have some good Russian Members, saying "Russian Mods" is not racist, it is a correctly descriptive set of words.
Motovader, I can guarantee you that I could take 5 minutes to make one of those shitty mods. It is literally 2 steps (3, if they bother renaming the files ): Step 1: Rip mesh from various games, such as Forza, Dirt, Asseto Corsa, etc... Step 2: Replace .DAE of, most likely, the Grand Marshal, and call it fullsize. (Don't try at home kiddies!)
LOL you guys are funny, arguing over if mod is "illegal" or not or if its crap/stolen/copied. Who cares, point is .. it looks very realistic. But i gotta agree, most russians steal a lot, i mean instead of making something completely new, they take all the shortcuts possible (like using existing model, physics and stats as base). You people should think differently, for a moment, pretend that you have never heard of BeamNG, when you watch the video, what will it show? Point being .. people who have no idea how BeamNG physics and cars work, they don't know that cars are "stolen" or copied, they see how realistic damage the game has and most likely will show some interest in the game
Umm... I'd like to disagree with the "it looks realistic" thing. A bad JBeam often results in jagged, glitchy mesh that looks in no way realistic. The orange car you compared to an M3 is a prime example. Obviously slapped on a Bolide JBeam with little to no modification, resulting in glitchy triangular things where it's hit and a wobbly spoiler.
Lets see you do it then if it's so easy... And it's not like no one here creates skins based off existing vehicles? Please.... Only ignorance would defend that position. Intelligence could replace the word "Russian" with "unofficial". But that would require...intelligence. Again, let's see it. Call it a "skin" and it's fine...unless you're from Russia.
I'm sure you coulda used the grand marshall compared to a crown vic/caprice test. I just think you shouldn't use the russian mods to represent the official game. But the clips match up pretty well so I guess it's not too big of a deal.
I'd rather not waste my time trying to prove a point, and yes they could be called "unofficial mods" but since they primarily come from m**z***.ru (.ru being for a russian website) russian mods is okay too...
I have a crap ton of Russian mods, and most of them use the civetta bolides jbeams, not the grand marshalls, although some have their own jbeams, the models are still stolen from a game, or this site itself. Some of them have their own models and jbeams, but only like 3 or 4.
I'm not gonna rip a model from a game, because it is wrong and illegal, but I have been able to swap DAEs out, for tests I tried out. If you can install vehicles into your BeamNG folder, then you can pull a Russian just as easily.
Are we talking about graphics now? Everyone can see that BeamNG looks nowhere near real-life graphics, it's a crash comparison. This video is suppose to show how realistic crash physics BeamNG has, not the graphics. @ Potato, none of the official vehicles are suitable, Grand marshall is too slow, too though and doesn't look as similar as the Car i used. As about the Silvia, yeah it looks quite crappy, but it's hard to find a car that can go that fast and looks fine. But i'm taking notes of what people say here, for my next comparison video
