Then why use a vehicle that was never built to any kind of realistic standard? It doesn't matter if there wasn't a default car to match, this doesn't show off BeamNG in any way at all. A Grand Marshal and a BMW are too very different things.
You can download those ripped russian mods to your hearts content, but remember, this is your first offense so I'm not going to be very mean about it, you will get this sh** ^^^^ if you post videos on the official forums that have russian mods in it, they are frowned upon, I hope you can make a good comparison video using a good official vehicle to really show the beauty of BeamNG
These cars make BeamNG look like an unrealistic car crashing game rather than the physics simulator it is.
As i said, if you or anyone else knows where to find real life crash tests, please feel free to leave a reply or message me, i'd like to make video with better matching cars. There are tons of videos of slow crashes, like 30mp/h, but those are quite boring.
Excellent thread, I was getting ready to put together a crash test real life thread, here is one that I made! 95% match for me too, and the jbeam file doesn't even fit the car and the car is only 40% done!!.. amazing! Hyundai Elantra BeamNG vs Hyundai Elantra Real life I also have a BMW in the works and will crash test against real one!!
Anyone that thinks these videos don't showcase how realistic the damage is in this game because the cars aren't "official" is retarded. IMO
yeah indeed, looks realisticly close like mine, but that's what i mean .. look at the real life clip, its so tiny, crappy resolution. I never upload anything below 720p (live streams or PS3 gameplays), 95% of my content is 1080p. i'm looking for HD real life crash tests. agreed these videos ain't about graphics, they show the realistic damage of BeamNG.
I will try to upload an HD one soon, im still learning everything including video software. We will see how close it really is, but I think it will still be dead on
Yes, the game is an amazing simulator. Very cool videos guys! With all the focus on destruction realism, I hereby vote the game name be changed to .crash
WHAT DO YOU NOT GET ABOUT THE MISMATCHED JBEAMS, THAT RUINS THE REALISM OF THE CRASH YOU ASSHATS. My goodness, the mismatched Jbeams and stolen meshes with 73" rims are impacting both GRAPHICAL and DESTRUCTIONAL appearance!
Most of us are just learning this stuff, I can't create a full jbeam structure from scratch yet, most of us can't, but we are still amazed at how accurate the damage still is even with grossly mismatched jbeams, you really should be complaining about Grand Theft Auto 5 with its goofy damage models < Yuck!
Pretty sure you're the retard, IMO. You obviously don't have a single clue about Jbeam, crashing a BWM that has the physical properties of a Grand Marshal isn't realistic in any way, please educate yourself before making smart ass comments.
No aurgument there, a grand marshal jbeam on a BMW frame is horrid, but being that it still runs and has somewhat believable deformation is still amazing.
That's exactly the point that's being argued. I'm with you... You're right, I have no clue about Jbeam. I don't need to know a single thing about it to open my eyes and see something that looks realistic. From your technical point of view, maybe it's way off.? It doesn't matter... People want a playable game that looks real, not one that's technically correct.
^this, I think most of us are fine with the damage models presented here, but I understand it needing to be more realistic, this game engine can do much more accurate damage then is being presented here, all with time as we become better at coding jbeams.
I do not care for these crappy conversions, do them all you want. But don't label it BeamNG vs Real Life, because that's going to create quite a stir, if you're comparing the two, at least use a quality vehicle, not one that isn't realistic in any way. It may "look good"(Doesn't IMO), but that's not the point, many things are wrong with this.
