Once again I want to apologize for not folding. Once I find a cooler that fits my tiny case I should be folding 24/7 as I have school. 24k ppd without bonus. Not bad.

We are wading through mud now, progress is tough. You ok pyroxyde? You haven't folded in something like 3 days.

Pyroxyde hasn't folded for a week or so now. But that's ok. Progress is gonna be really slow from now on either way. I've been exploring other teams, and to get into the top ten, the team will need a combined 30 million points or something ridiculous like that. If we want to get anywhere fast, we are gonna need a lot more folders.

Ideally we'd need to get whaler from Linus Tech Tips forums to start folding for us :) He has 2 "servers" folding right now. Like a total of 56 cores of Opteron power folding at once :D

Hi ! Yes I'm okay, thanks ! But the last week I've used my computer for other purpose, so I haven't fold...
But my laptop is ridiculous compared to yours !

Be sure I'll be folding again soon !

And maybe next year I'll build my own desktop. :p

My HS is selling/throwing out a bunch (200+) of desktops with 2nd gen core I type pentiums. If I could get something like 200 wall sockets I could use them all. I could also distribute them to people on this forum. That would be a great plan actually.

I would, but shipping. I guess if you payed your own shipping. That would be something like 400 cores and I think they all have either 7750s or 7660s. Only needs more ram. Either 2 or 4 gb machines. Not sure.

Except that they'd only get something like 3-5K ppd

Assuming that they each get 5k ppd, that would be 1,000,000 ppd over all 200+ computers. :)

if you could et me one for the cost of shipping I would do the folding thing I guess. A computer with a pentium dual-core (that's what you meant right? idk) is better than my current computer. I have several older computers I could use too.

edit: dude I though you were talking core 2 duo era stuff but you are talking about like 3 year old hardware!! How are they throwing these away? My school won't even let me take their p4's that just sit waiting to be recycles :'(

Or you could just sell all those and build a 4P Opteron rig for 1K$ and get 1,000,000ppd with one computer. Much more efficient and power friendly. :p

That definitely makes more sense, but I am assuming that selling 200+ computers isn't going to be a walk in the park

Lets say you can sell them each for 75$. You would only have to sell about 14 of them to make 1K$. ;)

yeah but shipping and handling would be a bitch. If you sold the computers on ebay they would probably sell really fast at $75 ea. People ask that much for pentium 4's on there

I was speaking more along the lines of kijiji/craigslist where people would buy them for that much and pick them up locally. But sure that works too. Either way you can stand to make a little chunk of change if you obtain all these. :)

Wow. .-. That would be amazing. If I could sell all 200 or so (not sure how many there are) I would have $15000. I would really do that, but I need the school to give them to me first, instead of selling them themselves.
