    They nerfed compute to force you to buy their telsla and quadro cards. Now that mining is huge they have been upping compute on all their cards. So I'll bet that maxwell quadro is a compute beast.

    EDIT: Woo! Broke 300k!

    Mining is not the reason nvidia is 'upping compute'. It's just part of Moore's law that they are getting progressively more powerful. As is anything.

    It appears you are right. I had assumed that they had unlocked some more DP performance for mining and stuff, but it turns out that has been a published goal since something like 2010.

    Sooo I do have F@H installed on my rig now, but haven't gotten around to getting it setup. Due to reasons and some certain person. But trust me I will get around to it. Most likely.

    @above #awe

    Anyways, update. Getting a 7870 instead of the 280x. It's $150 less and it's more than powerful enough for my 1280x1024 resolution. Not going to blow away the team, but it should do well.

    Just completed my first fold, had to shut down my PC earlier for the night. Resumed at 20% Why aren't I in the team? It says I am but on the page it is not there. Capture7.PNG

    It should after an hour or so.

    Yep, I'll try tonight but it might be Friday. (As seen in the custom avvy thread)

    It is up, I am going to see The Book Thief with some friends. I am leaving my PC on Medium. My PC is always locked, I never shut it down until night. Might as well do something good. :)

    Nah, but all the free time I have otherwise I don't really want to spend on my computer. Rather be out snowmobiling or something :)

    I wish I had a snowmobile :( The only fun I can have with the snow is drifting around corners in my truck :D (or slamming the pedal too much and doing a 720 in my grandparent's neighborhood xD)

    I had a similar issue when I had updated F@h too many times. Nuke all the f@h stuff and try using the beta client. Good luck. ;)

    I have run some commands to remove everything and reinstalled, didn't work. There also is not a 'beta' client as such for Ubuntu afaik.

    99% sure there is. I'll check later. I assume the folding forums don't have anything.
