Playing around with OC'ing again.. GPU mining clocks aren't stable in F@H, and anyways I want to see what I can get on the lowest volts possible.
I can grab another 2Gb GHz edition 7870 for $140. But until I get a new motherboard/CPU it'd be running at 1x speeds. Worth it? I could use it purely for folding/driving an extra monitor... bus speed isn't so important there.
Yeah, just for mining and stuff then go for it. I think that if you can't Xfire the main card does all the graphical work and the second GPU just displays the screen onto any monitors plugged into it. (At least that's how it was for me when I had a 8800GTS in my second slot.) Anyway, just started mining for the first time in a while.
Don't mine. I was making ~400khash and both LTC and DOGE (And FTC, but I didn't stick with that) were giving me well under $1/day without electricity.
Mmm.... those other 7870s match my case better than the sapphire I have... would anyone buy my sapphire 7870...? Say... $140? $120?
$60 take it or leave it. (I'll also give you my 650ti if you want. I'm pretty sure the 7870 is quite a bit better.) In other news, I'm doing a blazing 23k PPD currently. (Was like 15k last time I folded.) Also, someone took my 9th place spot and I'm back in 10th.
I'm probably gonna pawn it off to a friend who's trying to get parts for a good pc. He was looking at a 750 ti for $150, this would crush it.
Go away. Just noticed my GPU running 199F/93C. Fan is on slow speed which explains why. (Remember, I strapped a couple case fans to the thing and when I remember to turn the fans up I get much better temps.) Also, I think I need an updated signature badge seeing as I have a few more WUs now. 558 WUs more to be exact. I wonder if I should try to get a few school computers folding for me again..
