Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Lol. I'm hopefully getting a 8870(or whatever the equivalent to a 7870 is) around Christmas time. Hopefully the 8000 series is released by then.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. I think they'll go straight from the HD 7000 to the HD 9000 series, keeping the HD 8000 series for laptop versions. And the equivalent of the 7870 is not gonna be the 9870, it will probably be the 9770, but who knows.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Gonna be so glad to get that 7950. My 7770 was getting 7,021ppd, and now with an overclock of 1048/1158 it is getting 20,000ppd, on the same WU. :O
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Are you using the beta units? 3: Scary, sounds like takeoff. XD Look at the fan RPM
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. How does one do such a thing? (I mean use the beta units)
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. They are awesome, like 3x the ppd. Also. :'D Look at the stats! 233Wus, near 900,000 points, and rank 5500. I love you guys!
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. They are indeed going to 9000 series. HD 8000 was for laptop gpus (as you said) and OEM desktop gpus which you would find in prebuilts such as Dell, HP, and Lenovo make for example. These 8000 series gpus both laptop and desktop are rebranded 7000 series. The model equivalent of the 7870 will be the 9870 still. But the performance equivalent will most likely be around the 9850. As for my little tutorial on changing over to beta units I'd prefer you just hotlink the post for two reasons. Firstly being its a massive post when you quote that many images, and secondly I am making changes to it as time goes on and the method gets tweaked. Currently the 'advanced' flag is needed rather than 'beta'. I am unsure if beta still works, if anybody knows please post tell me so I can add that to the guide.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Sorry, but the images helped me. I'll edit that though. And the beta flag still works for me. EDIT: Even though, beta gets me 0x17, is core 18 out now? Could anyone make a stat list like the ror team has? I have 0 coding knowledge so I can't. :I
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Ok thanks for the help! - - - Updated - - - What kind of stat list do they have?

Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Jeez, that looks like too much work to keep up.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. I'll try to update this as often as I can. Feel free to add it to the first post or whatever. http://austingratzer.com/rigsofrods/foldingbeamng.png
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Woo! Thanks! - - - Updated - - - Remember this? I laugh. But something is not right. My ppd started going down, so I added +0025/0100 to my clocks on the GPU, and it went down faster. It was at 21k ppd. *see image* Reverted and it stayed the same.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. No there is no core_18, 8900 is simply the project name. Much like how GROMACS' core can range anywhere from 7XXX to 8XXX but the core is _04.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Woooo! We just broke 900,000 points! Edit: I just started using Beta units and it's estimating me to get 21,000 ppd with my 7770. Isn't that a little high? Not that I'm complaining or anything lol
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. If it is overclocked that is only a little above average. You probably also have pci-e 3.0 and that give a little boost in folding. EDIT: My 1058/1258 7770 nets ~23k. O_O
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Updated the stats image. Shrinked it down to size also.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Current AMD FX platforms don't support PCI-E 3.0, and if they did it doesn't make a difference in folding.
