Status Update 2/11/2025 Hey there! Progress will be a bit slow this time around. I have landed a new job and will be moving house within the next month so expect a bit of time before the next version releases. But I do have good news about the mod I would like to share. Along with the numerous mods being supported, I found a new method of recording sounds and improving sample quality. The recent Ibishu Claria video utilized some of those new techniques with the 3.5L I6. It is actually a combination of improvements - recording using stereo tracks instead of mono tracks (yes, I know.. audio engineers just collectively cringed), and finally separating engine and exhaust sounds completely in Forza Horizon 5 (which gets rid of sample overlap). I have started working on getting those done on the existing engines so far, and have 3 total that have been refreshed: 2.3L I5 3.5L I6 8.4L V10 Basically, I'm starting out with the ones that I felt needed some love the most. But I will be utilizing this new method for all of them eventually. Looking forward to sharing more!
If you're directly recording them from the game, have you considered using the ForzaTech Method 22 extraction script instead? It should be noted that this does not work on the latest version's files, but I have an archive of the ones that do work I've attached a zip file with XML files regarding the assignment of sound files, below is an example of an entry
Well this is certainly interesting. I have been manually recording the sounds. Funnily enough the XML files you are referring to is part of my discovery and I was able to find out how to adjust volumes and all. Very cool. I'll take a look into the script, thanks!
Thanks! Me too lol. Depends on how fast and confident I am with the new sounds. But I'd say sometime later this week or next week.
The 2JZ-GTE is coming to BeamXForza Thanks to @TwoTwoNine a new era will begin for BeamXForza. And to kick off the excitement, what better way than the legendary Toyota Supra 3.0L I6! Revs up to 8000rpm using the B-Xtreme Camshaft Upgrade and comes stock with ~330hp. This video showcases the quality uptick that the new samples provides. It is crazy how much better they sound! And I can't wait to show you the rest. Enjoy
5.0L V8 Sound Update Showcase The 5.0L V8 | 305cu is getting a sound update and I think the perfect vehicle to show it off is the Bruckell Nine! It has a raspy, deep tone that sounds amazing. One of my favorites so far! Looking forward to sharing more
8.4L V10 Sound Update Showcase The 8.4L V10 | ZB-II is getting a sound update - and I had a little bit of fun with the Gavril MD-Series
Status Update 3/16/2025 Hello! It's been quite a while since my last post and as stated on the previous status update last month, I have been busy moving house and everything else that comes with that. Haven't had much time or energy to work on the mod - but it has given me time to decide how I should go about developing this mod and sharing my progress. Recently on my YouTube channel, I announced that I will be starting to stream my development of BeamXForza! This will be my first time streaming anything, so the main goal of these streams will be to interact with folks that want to tune in, give glimpses into what I'm working on and what the process is like working on BeamXForza! For the curious among you, I'd invite you to the stream sometime later this week - I will post the scheduled stream here once I have everything set up. Hope to see you there
Nice work man! This was all stuff I was hoping to do YEARS ago with my sound mods haha, it's great that FH5 has had a point in time where the extraction script works! That's great because the game has lots of great sounds...massively under represented in game at times so, keep up the great work! FH3 actually had a sound dump as well, just FYI and IMO actually contains some audio files that are significantly higher quality than later games. Still, there is plenty in FM4 that still can't be beat either such as my old 67 camaro mod. If you like...I am MORE THAN happy for you to take all the sounds from my various old mods and remaster them for your mod , they still sound amazing even to this day.
Wow that's cool, thank you! I'd actually love that, I love shifting through the different sounds and seeing which ones would fit. I've begun sorting good and bad sounds from FH5 to try and get a grasp on how many I can 'actually' select from because, at least right now, it seems to be around 40% of sounds from FH5 are awful and won't touch with a ten foot pole. Which is large percentage lol. But yes I would love to see those sounds --- Post updated --- stop editing the same post, please idk whats going on --- Post updated --- test? --- Post updated --- final test.. pls help --- Post updated --- testing again
For some reason every time I post on a thread it edits my previous post instead of creating a new one.. lets see if this continues with this one
It never did this before and I didn't change any settings, and it did it again on my other help thread I created. How do I get it to make a new one? I'm so lost lmao.
My example would be if you scroll up to my previous posts you see that each status update is a new post. See those 3 videos in a row that are in a different post? I apparently can't do that anymore. I'm not sure what's going on.
You've uploaded them in different days. Until another member posts or an certain amount of time passes your posts will get updated instead of being separated
LOL! Woooowww that's actually crazy I never encountered that until now. Well then... lessons learned I will leave my mistakes up because that is hilarious xD
