I only have Bendy road in my mods folder. All my other mods are in a folder on my desktop to keep them out of the way of things while I work on it. I have checked everything for file paths that are pointing to other maps, and as far as I can see everything is in order. If it loads for some people then it must mean that those who can't must have something on their machine that's breaking it. I'm at a loss to know whats going on.
Well I tried my best. Must be a problem on your end. If I was the only person it worked for I would be inclined to think there was a problem. As some people can load it fine, just like I can then I guess its something on your computer breaking things. If I ever get to the bottom of it I will update the map or post a solution.
The updated version works for me. Used to get stuck at 68 importing lamp p14 low or something but now loads in about 1 minute.
Crashes for me at 6% importing collada: lampsP5.dae importing collada: lampP5low.dae importing collada:lampP5Col.dae
Fair enough, Loading for me starts out a little slow, once it gets to 10% it speeds up a lot. Not sure what to do about that. Thanks for trying.
I remember playing on this map a long time ago, but it doesnt load for me here either. Even disabling all other mods does not help. Not sure what causes this issue. Edit: Same here apparantly!
Sorry about that. I can only guess that there is a mesh object that is causing the problem, As everything loads fine for me, I have no idea what object is causing the issue. There are a lot of people saying it hangs on the lamps. The lamps are are split up into 24 or 25 chunks. Each chunk has a bunch of lamps aligned in the exact shape of the road. This means each lamp chunk has quite a few sub meshes. These don't appear to give me any trouble when loading, but they could be the cause of the problem? When I finish getting Generic City back to some kind of usable condition, I could remove all the chunks of street lights and replace them with a million single lights. I didn't want to do that in the first place because A, it takes forever and B, lining them up exactly will be impossible. It was nice and easy to align them in sketchup by making an array of them along the spline I used to generate the sections of road. Then all I had to do was place each chunk at the same coordinate as the section of road they were designed for. This saved me hours placing single lamps and kept the spacing consistent. If somebody who can't load the map could do me a favor and look in art/Shapes/roads. Then delete anything that says lampsP1 through lampsP25 this includes any that have Col or Low at the end of the name, and any .cs file with the same name. like this lampsP1.cs lampsP1.dae lampsP1Col.dae lampsP1low.dae lampsP2.cs lampsP2.dae lampsP2Col.dae lampsP2low.dae Then once you have removed them, try loading the map. If It works I will know it will be worth the effort of placing a million single lamps to fix the problem. If it still refuses to load then I will know to look somewhere else and not waste hours of my time trying something that wont fix the issue. I'm not sure what else to try, but this could be a solution if somebody could take the time to do this and let me know if it loads. Cheers
Just posted another update in the main post. In an attempt to fix the loading issue based on people saying it hangs when loading the lamps, I removed the 25 chunks of lamps and spent 8 hours placing 376 single lamps by hand. It was so boring. If this doesn't fix the issue then I'm stumped. I also added a ramp in the car park opposite spawn for you to move to where ever you want to cause carnage. I really hope it works now.......
Oh thank god! Thanks for giving me some good news. The 8 hours of placing +300 single lamps was hopefully worth it. I hope you enjoy
