What I mean by this is when you destroy your fuel tank, no matter whether it's been taken completely off the vehicle or has a small puncture, drains the same amount no matter what Also, when you puncture a fuel tank, it should only drain where the puncture is located, like if you puncture just the top, it should only drain if the vehicle is sideways or upside down. There's already decently accurate fluid simulation as shown by the tanker trailers and the weight distribution UI app, so it should be possible It would also be nice if you take off/puncture a fuel tank on a vehicle with more than one fuel tank (civettas, t-series), only that amount of fuel could be drained out
This could be helpful for planes as well, as they normally have a crossfeed to ensure that both tanks have the same fuel level.
fueltanks are currently just a bunch of nodes and when the beams that connect them break thats how a puncture is registered, to implement what you said would be VERY complex for such a small detail, and i think multiple fuel tank vehicles still work after taking one fueltank out
