KJP12, I appreciate the criticism, this was just a basic thing I thought up in under half an hour. Maybe someone will take parts off if it and implement it in the future. But for now its just a suggestion.
Yea. Who knows. Maybe tdev will accept, which is unlikely, but you never know. Suggestions are just suggestions until someone puts them into effect.
Oh....come on....TDev won't put these suggestions in to act. We all know what happened back in Rigs Of Rods. These suggestions are likely to turn the forums up side down like RoR forums....beside, i'm sure that community moderators won't work either (See what Jeepster done back in ror forums) The devs learnt from their mistakes back in ror already.... Just stop overreacting and things are gonna fall back to their places
You obviously weren't there for it, he had laced the 'mod' thread with empty zip files that took 4+ hours to load in on people's computers and then changed the name on the thread multiple times to avoid it being steadied by moderators, he also had various alts who 'helped' him throughout this saying that it was legit
That is what I wish tdev would realize. I want to see these trolls get stopped before they create a major fuss. It would make the forum a happier place for us.
I was there for it, but unlike some of you guys, I don't download files from threads like that, especially ones where it's incredibly obvious that they're trolling. Also, just because you change the title of the thread doesn't mean reports go away. He knew the account and thread were toast the moment the moderators came back online. The only reason this is an issue is because no one here on the forums is mature enough to just ignore those threads.
Some people are quite stupid though, and will do it anyways. Having a night moderator would improve thing a lot. I've seen countless incidents where that would've helped.
Agree. We really need one. If TDev isn't crazy about the idea of community moderators, i'm quite sure he can find someone trustworthy at BeamNG Headquarters to do the job. BeamnNG is a company after all, right.
Well, Fera maybe is going to be one of those, if he doesn't have to juggle 3 things at once, and goes back to the US.
Not at the HQ! That's In Germany as well and wouldn't help in the slightest. He'd need to appoint a company member in the western hemisphere.
