Re: Black Cliff A desert world Yeah, that style looks better than what I came up with. It'd be nice if you could send them my way. Or, I guess that I could use something like what I came up with in the image below. This was just tossed together. It doesn't have any doors or windows yet.
Re: Black Cliff A desert world I need this map :| Been waiting 4 evs 0mgzzzzzzzzzzz beta naow PLZZ! Seriously though, can't wait to speed down these roads.
Re: Black Cliff A desert world just sugessted the op via pm to put a few of these in it... made them for a map project ive abandonned due to unsolvable complications i would love to see them being used in a map like this
Re: Black Cliff A desert world Will do. Any format in particular? Edit: Okay, got it. Bear in mind that if you want different text, you'll have to notify me (unless you have this typeface). Looks pretty good, though I might recommend trying to add more color to the main logotype. Muted, but still saturated. Also, I wouldn't create the signs as all one texture on the wall. It'd be better to use individual decals for each sign placed on the wall.
Re: Black Cliff A desert world If I were to pick a format, I'd say dds or png. Also, I'm working from the suggestions that you made.
Re: Black Cliff A desert world Everything looks perfect, and that tomahawk station looks amazing. Imo the previous suggestion to change it was pointless and is not worth your time at all. Also don't split the signs into different textures. That can cause clipping issues and is a bit worse for performance. I would save micro details until after it's released sometime and you want to update small things like that. Keep up the brilliant work and don't try to make things too perfect or get stressed over them!
Re: Black Cliff A desert world About a week ago, I sent a reply to your pm. Since you haven't replied back, I suspect that I somehow messed up the message. If you send those telephone poles my way, I'll gladly use them. They look like they'd be fun to run into. I'll take this into consideration. It's somewhat of a habit of mine to become overly focused on small details. With this being the case, though, my current goals are to get this world into a release state and rid it of most of its irritating imperfections. _________________________________________________________________________ Also, for anyone who views this thread, here is an image that shows some of the possible locations for off road trails. Please note that none of these trails have been placed yet. They are all in the idea stage. Do these locations seem like good spots for trails? Since these trails would mostly be somewhat lumpy and perilous to an average suspension, they should be pretty easy to make. edit Oh, there are also some new images on the original post regarding plants, terrain textures, and a day-night cycle.
Re: Black Cliff A desert world dude, im totally sorry... I MESSED UP, i accidentally deleted a folder they where located in then i made new ones but the collisions on them are totally allover the place and i cant seem to get them right? it worked before here the files: http://www.mediafire.com/download/c4an5icplbj6248/telephone_poles.zip maybe someone could take a look at it and redo the normals or center the colls. back to where they belong
Re: Black Cliff A desert world Oh, don't worry about it. Also, from looking at yours, I think that I might have just come up with a way to make an okay looking low poly telephone pole. edit Here is a haphazardly tossed together example of my idea. These four poles and their lines are 450 polies. However, I think I can pull this down even more. up close
Re: Black Cliff A desert world Here is a small update regarding the trails The trail marked as 1 in my previous post is now complete. It's roughly three miles long. To make this trail entertaining, I left some of its bumps. Though some of these bumps are quite large, none of them will put a car into a barrel roll. I got rid of those. Here are some images. small jump- this didn't seem to damage the suspension. big jump- going about 80 mph each end of the trail- stickers are used here Now, I'm going to go make the 3rd trail.
Re: Black Cliff A desert world That's nice. Thanks. Here's a small update. I've now got a hangar. Also, a few more trails. These are taking some time. and another picture that shows the adjusted lighting. Edit Drowsy, you sure caught on to that quick. __________________________________ updated sign pic at high noon
