I am proud to announce that I've successfully revamped the classic BMW E30 M3 mod! There are still a lot of things left to do, but this is a good start. Great for those who just want that nostalgia. But first, some backstory. Every time you would search 'BMW' in the search bar, this mod would show up. There is a large chance you probably tried this mod out, but the mod doesn't work anymore. This gave me the idea to make my first revamp mod. Now before I go any further I'd like to say that I unfortunately do not have any permission from the original developer, Ky, but I probably never will. After a bit of searching I saw that Ky is now an employee and has no time on his hands to work on BeamNG mods or anything similar. He doesn't release any of his contact information and hasn't been online from the BeamNG site since May. I probably never will get a direct contact from Ky, but I promise him, if he one day wakes up and wants me to take this down (or if there are any problems with this mod), I will take it down. I fully respect his work and can respect the opinions of others on this revamp. Besides that, here is is. It's not very modern, but is a good start for people who like nostalgia. Again, credits to Ky for his mod. This is a free place to report bugs and give out criticism as long as you have a point and aren't too focused on offending me, lol. I still have a few plans for the mod, and I have a small list below. ☑ PBR ▢ Extra parts such as spoilers ▢ New engine sounds (I've done it before, not sure why it doesn't work this time) ▢ Migrating from materials.cs to main.materials.json Rare chance of happening; ▢ Skins Anyways, that was my mod revamp. Not the best, I know, but cmon, I'm trying. Known bugs; ▢ Some parts may go no texture ▢ Respawning the mod multiple times repetitively can cause the steering wheel to disappear (Simple fix is to exit and re-enter the vehicle) ▢ Gas tank and NOS doesn't work ▢ Custom engine sounds do not work ▢ Metallic doesn't work Changes; • Added PBR to interior, body and wheels • Changed all material formats • Tweaked all JBEAM files • Removed outdated LUA file • Added modern engine audios • Removed unnecessary files • Fixed materials file • Added more materials • Added Fuel Tank and NOS JBEAM's • Replaced outdated and broken configurations with necessary files and new thumbnails • Tweaked .dae file Enjoy. -raiiiu P.S, I'll push new updates on this thread that fixes bugs. Oh right. But the tires are even broken in safe mode. Time for some criticism, Its not really that much of a revamp, sure you have reworked a few things but the original was less buggy. Sure you said updates are to come but some of the textures that were there in the first place are missing. The suspension also seems a bit funny, imo the original was better, sorry if this offends you but its what i think.
i see, well, 1. mods arent supposed to work in safe mode 2. bringing back old mods cant guarantee original quality 3. the suspension was not edited and its all original, so i dont know what you are talking about 4. i realized that i forgot many updates, such as pbr interiors, so im gonna release a new update with pbr interiors, fixed metallic and bugs.
I cleared cache before safemode tho since i cant be bothered deactivating all mods. Also that update might help with the tire issue im having
