Also I worked out how to get custom modelled cubes from blender to beamng: Step 1: Do your normal mod folder structure for any mod Step 2: Add your jbeam file in for whatever part your making (for a meshlap idk how to make custom jbeam) Model your part, but make sure you join it to an existing beamng part, (in my case I just modelled the storage boxes, assigned the textures/materials then joined it to the vanilla tube rear bumper, and then exported the part. Make sure the name of your part IN BLENDER is the same as what you reference in the jbeam file, and must have no spaces, only underscores Edit the jbeam file to whats needed (good tut here: https://www.beamng.com/threads/tutorial-making-a-custom-part-for-a-vanilla-car.82050/) Hopefully it works
Oh ye thx --- Post updated --- 2 things: Just double checking the mod works? Anyone got ideas for parts that I haven’t listed on post 1? Like other stuff than trays and bumpers
Any parts you would like in the pack send me a picture of in the thread and ill give it a go --- Post updated --- Im thinking of these: Front bumpers, a tub rack, stainless snorkel
Anyone else got ideas? Currently working on a bed rack, and will try a front bumper as well, then I will need to add something else, thats where u guys come in…
Front bumper and tub rack seem to show up in parts selector but don’t show the meshes, a problem I am working on but will hopefully fix I will persist wish me luck please lol
Fixed the problem with the front bumper! It was just I hadn’t used underscores for the mesh so it didn’t recognise it. Will retry the tub rack this arvo hopefully it will work --- Post updated --- Then I will make a few more front bumpers, then maybe go on to the snorkel --- Post updated --- Once this mod gets more progress i might try to either put it on the forums or put it in the mods and skins section cause this is the wrong section but whatever
Just came up with some ideas for fictional brands: - Body parts: Rocktown protection: bumpers Nomi (beamng lore): storage and camping Crocodile4x4: bumpers and other - Lighting (when I learn how to do it): DoubleLlighting: headlights party lights, underglow Nomi: other - Suspension (when I learn how to do it): Nomi: shocks Rocktown sus: full components - Other: Nomi Rocktown
The new update also includes 2 configs, a tourer and a crawler however the only difference are the bumpers, tire size, and lift height
For the rest of this and next week I will work on this and my SEQ map, and for this I will make some parts such as trays, camping stuff, redo the Rocktown bumper, and maybe make a Rocktown rear bumper --- Post updated --- So its looking good
Ill start with a new flatbed tray, might have to modify chassis but we’ll see, and then I will redo the Rocktown bumper and maybe make another bar
I tried a flatbed this arvo, gonna have to fix the UV and shorten the chassis, but otherwise its going alright
Thanks a lot, I think I will leave suspension for a bit, but make cosmetic parts like remote reservoir shocks. So main thing I gotta learn is texturing
