but yeah, I remember when the colors were distinctive and unique, and stood out. Now they just look ugly

I don't say they look ugly, it's just that these colours in particular have lost their unique layers shaped by the light beams.

Matte green looks ugly (unless it’s a military vehicle)

I like silver a lot, actually, but I agree, matte = ugly. Especially matte black.

Sorry if this is a bump, but can someone explain me what "Caged" and "Savage" drive modes do? The only thing I know is that Caged mode disconnects the supercharger so it's good for everyday driving.

I think Savage gives more boost like the Sport+ mode on the SBR4

"Caged" does what you said plus it fully closes the exhaust flaps, puts the 8-Speed transmission on "D" and turns the ESC fully on.
"Savage" gives a bit more boost to the Supercharger (meaning more power and torque) plus it fully opens the exhaust flaps, puts the 8-Speed transmission on "S" and it also turns the ESC on to a very small degree (not enough to be triggered on when you do a burnout or a drift/powerslide and when the rear tires light up on hard acceleration from a standstill, but it's still on).
Mind you, the top speed of the Bastion Battlehawk Redtail can only be achieved on "Savage" mode, the "ESC & TC Off" mode returns the boost to the levels of the other modes.

Sport+ mode on the SBR4 doesn't give more boost, just like the Sport+/ttSport+/Drift modes on the modern ETKs don't anymore. The Savage mode on the Bastion and the Arsenic mode on the FCVs do it, however.

I like matte colours, but only when they're discreetly matte. Remember the "Liquid Bronze" colour of the 2012 BMW 6 GranCoupe and the matte/metallic gray colour of the 2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio. These were really nice.

Hate to bump, but the eponymous red from the Redtail trim isn't available in the factory colour presets.

You mean the Satin Red colour? It's there.

I've tested this issue again and I've discovered that it is the same shade as Satin Red however it is slightly different:
    - Satin Red has 86% Metallic and 65% Roughness.
    - "Redtail" Red has 100% for both.
The colour generated by "Add color to presets" is different to the one used and I am not sure why. Maybe these are superficially the same without PBR graphics.

When braking, the wheels go crazy, which hits the steering wheel hard!

Bruckell bastion has a problem with the light flares. Flares from license plate are not in place at all (XDD) and others are strangely positioned. This has been checked in "safe mode" in the configuration: Sport 5.7 (M)
