I don't know where this idea of a transverse-FWD V8 is coming from. It almost never happens IRL; most of the cars that do that are Cadillacs much larger than this, the Chevrolet Impala SS/Pontiac Grand Prix GXP, or the Lancia Thema 8.32 (which was a much smaller V8, and it's pretty plain to see that there are no Lancia influences anywhere on this car).

The first thing I will do when this is released is park it in the woods, drive the police Moonhawk round the lumber road and yell 'Tan Ciera!'

The Bruckell LeGran is actually based on the 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera

Agreed. This car will have a lazy iron block, single cam V6 at best and we're gonna like it.

True, since there's never been a twin-cam pushrod engine as far as I know.

Also, since this is a very GM-inspired design, it might be interesting to have an insanely overpowered turbo version of the top engine, like the Buick Indy turbos of the mid-80s. It could be used in a custom street-racing variant with the explanation that the owner had connections to a professional racing team and was able to score racing parts at a deep discount after the engine they were for became obsolete.

This car kinda is the Cadillac de Ville(at least the shape of the car and the rear) sixth generation so it might get a a v6 and a v8 both with front wheel drive.

Or it might be a combination between the Oldsmobile (due to the face) and the Cadillac and the engines will be a big surprise :D

I would say no because of the length of an I6, the engine would have to be a ridiculously small displacement.

So, that knocks it down to a V6 or an I4.

And MAYBE a V8, not likely though.

The V8 would have to be a small one, and it would probably be less efficient than a V6

Maybe a turbocharged or supercharged V6? Like some Buick sedans from the same period have.

I don't know if this was sugested before, and seach returned nothing, so what about something like the Olds Toronado transmission? It can even be used on some RR projects later!

That transmission is made for longitudional mounting of the engine. The LeGran will almost certainly come with a transversely mounted engine.

I agree, with considering how short the engine bay is in the shell renderings. Given the short length of the engine bay, there is no way a V8 or I6 will fit in the bay, leaving us with only an I4 and V6 engine options whether we like it or not.

Maybe if it was mid-engined we'd have more engine options.

(I wonder if someone will take it that this is a joke...)

Doubt it, not enough grip, and those V8's are trash. They are tough but make no power. The heads are terrible and the cylinders are super low compression.

    Cutlass Calais? Chrysler New Yorker?

either way, no v8 please, this car is supposed to the a representation of how shit 80's "Luxury" cars were, gaudy red/blue interiors, front bench seats that swallow you, overly complicated (but super cool) digital dashboards, and extremely slushy autoboxes on the steering column with no hope of a manual. and lets not forget dangerously soft suspensions. This car should drive pretty much like my dad's old 1993 Lesabre, super soft, super slushy, and an underpowered v6 that was choked by both the transmission and the strict emission codes.

I'm excited for this car because of what the dashboard could be and how fun it would be to go curb-hopping with.
