Hello guys I have managed to fix the horn not showing up or working. Just unpack the mod and replace the files that were originally there.
I wanted to note that I am somewhat remastering the Commander so if anyone has any decent ideas/suggestions you may post them
Please add a diesel variant, maybe for the European, UK and Australian markets. I tried the Commander with the 6.0 V8 TD and it was very nice. And, if you can, you could put some simple traffic configs.
Could see about getting with @JustRobertOFF and his "Roamup" pickup mod and do some Burnside parts for that. Just to tie it in with the Lincoln Navigator + Blackwood/Cadillac Escalade + EXT-esque vibes. Although I have persevered with mine, it's missing the chrome trim around the windows and such(wasn't able to select them), but the back end/bed is kinda bit of an odd mix-match of Roadsport and Commander parts just to get a sort of cohesive look to it.
There’s a mod called the Burnside Lakewood, inspired by the Blackwood and Mark LT trucks. To differentiate your idea from the Lakewood, it could take more Chevy avalanche/ Escalade EXT inspirations. I’m not expecting a full blown replica with a mid gate and stuff, just some cosmetic parts would suffice. A roll bar at the back of the cab over the bed, covered with plastic cladding (black or body color options) along with a wide third brake light on top. Some sort of custom fitting bed cover as well That’s just my thoughts on the design
make a fucking monster imagine this 1999 Cadillac Escalade plus monster truck its a good idea i promise
As for a diesel, I'm not sure, lore wise it was sold in limited numbers in those markets and adding that engine would just not make much sense, as I cannot think of a luxurious American truck of that era offering one I was going to do something similar (see the Cancelled Gavril Polara mod), however, it would have been unibody construction, well, not unibody but body on frame where body and bed is one piece not with a separate bed. A Burnside truck with a separate bed is the Lakewood, they would not do that twice, like with the Roamup. Besides I am not too interested in collaborating with problematic modders Again, what I said above. This would be basically making a vehicle from scratch, a skill I don't have
Ah, that's fair, and yeah, I have seen the Lakewood/do have it as well, but I felt like this would've been more suited, but that's not a big problem.
A limo Commander? (I can only find a photo of this toy car by Tomica but i'm sure sth like this exists irl)
I have seen limo versions of the Navigator and Escalade, as there is a transportation company nearby. They do exist, here are some real life photos:
Things done today: - Retextured gauge cluster with digital gearshift indicator + odo - Added interior lights - Added new climate control - Added accessory screen - Embossed logo on steering wheel instead of slapped on one --- Post updated ---
That thing needs a sunroof ! More interactive stuff in the interior such as dome lights and more ... Maybe a fully digital gauge cluster with a digital speed readout like some of the 2000s Cadillac ?
Maybe an analog clock and roamer's basic radio in place of the touchscreen on lower trims. In the early 2000s touchscreens were rare as factory equipment and usually reserved for the highest trim level exclusively. Plus the Windsor has an analog clock so I think it would fit in here as well
+1 for the analog clock. And I also agree with the nav system being optional. Back then, those systems were usually on the highest/limited/platinum etc trim level and usually a very rudimentary DVD based unit. Most customers would just go for the standard or mid range bose system or equivalent. Also, an overhead console with drop down DVD and storage cubbies (don't have to actually function) would be realistic.
