Slightly off topic, but which is better? x2 680 in SLI or 1 690? I am upgrading and want to be able to record and edit my videos that I might be putting on YouTube so I want 75 fps minimum @ 1280x1024 HD.

A single 680 is probably more cost effective, and for some programs/games I think SLI doesn't work.

Like x2 or would one be fine? Or should I wait for the HD 8xxx or 7xx series?

A single GTX680 would probably be ok, but it's hard to say for certain. I run it quite smoothly with a single GTX560 with medium-high settings and AO off.

    Exactly.
He could've made the same PC for like $500 (top of my head amount).
Making your own PC is the way to go!
Even if you don't want to be bothered assembling it, give it to the shop, over here they will assemble it for you for free :D

No. If you are to go back and read the 13 pages of discussion and very good information on this topic before asking you would have learned that you need to replace the thermal paste on your processor with an egg every time it's Tuesday in order for your computer to run this game. You haven't done that, I am very sorry for your loss.

    Exactly.

You're paying for the form factor, not the specs.

x2 680 are faster than a single 690. Compatibility wise, it will always be better to go with a single GPU (690 is a dual GPU on a single PCB) but for pure power. x680 would be better than 1 690

Why do you want 75fps minimum? Also 1280x1024 is not an HD format.

Like I said, you're paying for the all-in-one form factor.

    cad, more detail.

out of these cards what should handle this game on medium, if any.
my comp has an 8400 gs and it barely handled ror, although it seemed to be a processor issue. Card was at like 50% load in that game while my cpu was always 100 :/

The Pentiums have always been a slow processor, and that still stands today.

If your CPU was always at 100%, then upgrading your graphics card isn't going to help. If you want more performance, you're going to have to upgrade your CPU first.

Probably not. I don't think you can play any games except FarmVille on a computer that slow.

The GPU should fare decently despite being quite old now, but the CPU might be a bit below-par for physics intensive stuff.

    Current PC:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 @2.40 GHz
    Ram: 3GB
    Graphics: ATI Radeon 5770 1GB DDR5
    32 Bit Windows 7

    Then I'll be updating to:

    Processor: Intel Core I5-3570K Ivy @ 3.4GHz w/ 3.8GHz Turbo
    Ram: 16GB
    Graphics:EVGA SuperClocked GeForce GTX680 2GB GDDR5
    64 Bit Windows 7

I've done research and am pretty much assuming the new one will run this game on at least Medium, correct? The first one would be??

Going from the assumption that BeamNG runs slightly better than RoR, the current PC would run well, and I would be surprised if the new machine couldn't run it on ultra, whatever the max settings may be.
