I might be the only one who prefer the facelift over the pre-facelift Skyline R34.

    Still, V35 > R34

That would be an generation change because the first one is the 3rd gen, the other is an fourth gen Micra.
    OT:

    From meh...

    ...to tolerably fine.

this is a tricky one for me, I almost always prefer the pre-facelift model (or I'm on the fence and like both equally)
nontheless here's a few I can think of:
    Mazda Savanna/RX-3

Little on the fence with this one, I would say the Kouki has a slightly more striking presence, though it's hard to pick a clear winner for me.

    A40 Celica

Here's an example where I'd be more inclined to pick the Kouki, imo the flush square headlights look much more sleek and modern, and overall complement the lines of the rest of the car better than the round headlights do

but yea that's about all I can think of atm;)
could list plenty of examples where I think the facelift looks worse tho:p

Originated unoriginal, then a sprinkle of creativity fixed the pre-facelift and made the facelift 1% original. (Still, atleast I tolerate it.)

That's not even the starting point.

The basic Mazda design looked like this (even more unoriginal):
