Well it’s bobsled, so it is ice (unless I’m mistaking bobsled with something else, in that case my bad)

    Yes, it is ice.

A highway (german autobahn) runs around the entire map, allowing you to access the attractions.

The far terrain is for decoration purposes only. You can go there if you want - there won't be any borders... but it's just for decoration... so no collision with the houses and trees, very low poly - and there won't be anything to explore. But don't worry, there's more than enough to discover on the main map...even easter eggs. :)

    Sure!

Since this is a video game level, most of this is largely unnecessary and will be used by few. But a massive part of the charm of prior CJA was that it could be played as such an event. This seems to be only expanding in CJA 2, which is really awesome, and I cannot wait to play on the new map.

About my ramp suggestion: This is old CJA. Here, you can see that there are two main points of support: one being the mountain (red) and the other being the foundation* (blue). The purple stretch is the actually supported mass... rather, the mass of the structure that the weight of must be supported by either foundation. In old CJA, since the hillside is very built up, and made of rock, we can assume that much of the balance/tipping weight (shear force? It's been a while since I was active in my engineering studies) is on the top, while the bottom foundation is holding much of the weight. Combined, they feasibly will hold this bridge for a long period of time. I did add a green support - a theoretical extra support that would be more realistic but structurally unnecessary: it would serve to improve the longevity of the CJA ramp and minimize maintenence, but with really quite little weight being added other than the weight of the structure at any given point - there's really only ever one car on the ramp at a time, then what's the point? (I try to look at this ramp although it is real, with an actual event. Videos featuring ten semi-trucks flying down the ramp don't count in my considerations)

*foundations being where the majority of the weight supports, rather than is supported by, the structure. This will continue in New CJA.

Additionally, the hillside tunnel minimizes construction efforts. The ramp would have been built twofold: from these two approaches in yellow. This positioning makes sense, at least to me.
    oldcja.png

New CJA, however, and the ramp, have a few structural points. Here, there's only one foundation, and that's holding a lot more load. While, even if this structure was built in real life, it would likely be physically possible, the odds of catastrophic failure are quite high, and the odds of the top portion one day breaking off are good. Meanwhile, on the old CJA, there are no significant 'crease' points - points where the structure has good odds of eventual failure. If I was a betting man, the pink line would be my choice for a break.
My suggestion is perhaps raising the landscape and the hill somewhat (more) - see orange and green lines. This makes construction far more plausible; imagine building such an event. Most likely, the organizer would want to minimize work and costs, electing to choose a location where the natural grade reflects that of the jump, like was done in CJA 1. The landscaping of the map proper is, so far as I can tell, still very much a work in progress, so expanding whatever effect you end up going with on the main map for a slight bit out of the map is not implausible.
    newcja.png
However, if I were to be put in charge of such a project and faced with the constraints of what is already shown (read: don't touch landscape), I would implement something to the effect of this:
    altcja.png
This minimizes the stress points on the ramp itself, and also offers the opportunity to add a few more points of interest. One key thing on old CJA was the staging parking lot at the top of the ramp - it's more likely that all jump cars would be transported to the top the day before an event in order to maximize the time allotted. Adding an alternative slot for a passenger helicopter, or perhaps and elevator or passenger-car access road (perhaps a limited access road intended for a van full of racers inside the tower). Additionally, this allows an ambulance to be positioned on the ramp; should a vehicle crash while on the ramp, medical attention is more readily available.

One really cool element of old that I hope makes it to this map: the registration booth. Only one small complaint - it was, iirc, too small for semi-trailers, and the turn around at the back was much too small. On the note of too small - roundabouts were often impassable even for the MAN TGS mod with the Euro trailer that was once floating around.
    cjareg.png

One thing that irked me about the old map is that there's no staging area at the bottom of the ramp for the haulers of each trucks. Since most jump cars likely aren't street legal, and most likely only have minimal engines on account of operating primarily downhill for short periods of time, it's most likely that they'll come with vehicles to haul them. Old CJA didn't offer much in the way of parking haulers for the jump vehicles after they've jumped - this would be an awesome and relatively small touch - just a parking lot at the bottom of the arena - perhaps even an underground one, large enough for semi trucks.

Also, the original traffic flow around the garages a bit tedious. This is how I would often play it; allowing haulers to unload cars into garages, and then exit the jump paddock. From the video, it looks like the roads around the garages are two-laned anyway, so I'm probably wasting time just writing this. However, if an entrance and exit for trucks from the garages could be ensured, that'd be really cool.
    cjaalttraffic.png

Additionally, runaway truck ramps, and slowdown lanes for large vehicles on the one lane/direction road would be nice. Much of the hills are quite steep, which I really enjoy, especially with big trucks! However, implementing pull-offs at the top of each hill, and perhaps a second lane for vehicles traveling uphill, would be awesome (though it may already be too late, which is just fine. It's a believable oversight that would make the map all the more fun to play)

Watching the parkour videos on your Youtube channel, I noticed one thing - there are no accesses to recover broken-down vehicles. Perhaps service-only platforms that snake through, not unlike the red platforms used for run-up, could be added for vehicle recovery

    MysteryMan POV: An essay??
I think it would be a bit too much work for a simple map, but the idea is good.

    @bmwcrazy456

Wow. Thank you for your time and the detailed explanations.

I really didn't think about some things as much as you did. I built the ramp based on a real ski jump (just in a larger scale)... and they really look like this here in germany, without additional supports.

    https://www.google.de/search?sca_es...k5ACIQ0pQJegQICRAB&biw=2176&bih=1037&dpr=1.76

Unfortunately, I'm not an architect or structural engineer, so I don't have the necessary background knowledge to implement such a large-scale project as realistically as possible in the game.

A connection of the ramp to a mountain behind is problematic in its current state. On the one hand, the Autobahn and the paddock runs behind the ramp. And secondly, you wouldn't have such a good view up there. ;)

As you can see in the picture below, there is enough space in the paddock to create truck parking spaces (similar to Formula 1). The main paddock is connected to the road network via five entrances. All big enough to get directly behind the garages with a trailer truck.

    screenshot_2023-08-21_15-31-19.jpg

There will be a gate (similar to the registration booth) at each entrance to allow only the participating vehicles/teams to enter the site.

I am thinking about creating a staging parking lot at the top of the ramp. But this won't be in the first early access release, because I have to make some changes to the ramp.
