I have a Volvo V60 D5 and I can do 0 - 60 times in it but I prefer not to race the car because of a few reasons, main one is that its my mums car and I dont wanna damage it again, I dont feel the need to record a 0-60 time and I dont have the roads for it here I need a long stretch of private road to do it on and I dont have any near me...

1993 dodge ram 150 reg. cab short box V8 auto. I cant really get an exact time, but i think somewhere around 10 to 11 seconds. Not the fastest, but ok for a 90s pickup I think.

Edit: Used a stopwatch and got 10.74s.

So judging by all of this I probably have the slowest car on here... not sure what my 0-60 time is but my car weighs about 3200 lbs I think and only makes 88hp... you can guess how slow that would be :p

my car will be a honda jazz, 1.3 I-DSI, its slow, the I-DSI was made by honda asking their engineers to make a boring engine to make the average age of the jazz owner higher than the average life expectancy, makes the covet seem like a rocket!, its a shame that my parents didnt get the 1.5 as its not sold in europe (i dont know really) as its got VTEC and a decent helping of power, 120hp compared to the 1.3s 88

My dads 2006 Focus ZX5 automatic 2.0L Duratec (130hp/130lbsft) will beat my car off the line till about 38mph or so. The Merc will pull on it past that. That is rated 9.9 seconds but its more like 9.5.

The Ranger blew a coolant hose so I probably can't test it till spring but, 160hp/230lbsft, 3000lbs, 5-Speed with a 4.10LSD. I think it is quicker than my Merc even. 0-60 should be around 7.5-8 seconds. It is 18 years old now though. It's probably on par with the Merc now.

    2009 Lexus GS350, 3.5L V6 with 303hp stock, timed it in 5.8 seconds.

No video since I didn't bring my phone with me.

Back before I got my leaners permit and (consequently) my license, when I was first shopping for a car I wanted a Fox Body Mustang really badly because I just really liked the look of them. Low and behold I found one on eBay for about 600 bucks. I was super excited and didn't care what kind of engine or transmission it had... it was a Fox Body Mustang that I could afford and it had my name written all over it... so I bought it. 8 years down the line it is still the best darn thing I have ever spent any money on by far (even if the engine is a turd). The only things that I have replaced it in over the years are new tires and oil (obviously) otherwise it is just a super reliable car... and fantastic fun when it rains ;)

So yea, anyways, its a 1988 Ford Mustang Hatchback 2.3L Auto. Cant be much less of a mustang then that :p

or any other high performance i4 really. Maybe just to piss a few people off, a honda K series XD
Cosworth YD would probably make a nice choice, albeit expensive.

ill tell anyone who will listen. if you want v8 power in an inline 4 naturally aspirated package there is one engine in the world. the Honda K24. you aren't lifting no front wheels in that mustang but as long as you love it drive it.

Did a topseed run in my 05 tucson v6. Toped out on the standard spedo at 220kmh. But on my phone with the torque app it was at 238kmh. Reving at 6728rpm very close to redline. It reached topspeed in 35-40seconds, awd lock on esp off. Has 201000km on the odo.

Thats not bad at all for what it is. 170hp isnt a lot to move a car like that so fast. if your app is right thats over 145mph. can you film this happening? i gotta call semi bullshit.

Nah, I'm in the UK. The K24 is hard to come by. We can easily get YB's though, with big bucks can get YDs (upto 280bhp naturally aspirated without VTEC shinanigans...). Or even GM Family II engines, they are readily available here with some decent tuning support, very little honda tuning speciality out here.

if you had 11k to spend on a 280bhp cosworth engine you have money to spend on a k24 that will put out another 70hp without a fuss. cosworth is a big name tho. my old boss had a small formula car with a cosworth 1.6 race engine in it. he said it made 240bhp. ill be at that number shortly.

Cosworth is within about 5 miles of my current location ;)

I think one issue with a K series swap is that the K series has only ever been used in transverse applications. I am not aware of any longitudinal transmissions it would mount to. The cosworth YB will go straight upto certain tremec units that already fit a fox body, the YD does not directly mount up to the tremecs but there is a company making duratec bellhousing adapters that would allow it. I suppose best bet would be the miata transmission adapter, although whether the miata takes that power I dont know, otherwise a custom adapter would have to be sourced/manufactured. Although yeah, with 11k to spend on a cossie, probably not an issue. Getting a 280hp built cossie is easy here, getting a 280hp built K series is not though. Getting a Z20LET, also easy with a fair amount of aftermarket support considering here we're on home turf.
Although K series now I think about it does have a subtle fuck you to it and I like that.

your correct as far as mounting issues and getting it bolted to whatever trans you want. you would for sure need a custom adapter plate. i like the k24 because i see guys with stock blocks and just a head package dyno 300whp all day. the engine out of the accord euro R is ideal. cosworth is badass and im a huge fan, but honda threw a big wrench in the boutique small displacement race engine game when they released the k series engines. even if you take a stock k24 block and put on a stock k20a head from a dc5 type r, your looking at 280whp+ in an engine that will make PLENTY of torque and be perfectly driveable.

Honestly... I want to drop a cross plain i4 out of a Yamaha YZF R1. 170HP and about 80flbs of torque. Then since the bike is geared to hit 200mph I could gear it 2.10 to 1 and have it top out around 90. That would make an incredible sleeper because it would make all the right noises but when someone wants to race you (its embarrassing how many people want to race you when you drive this thing) you could actually dust them at the lights, and if that's not enough power or torque, then you could turbo it up to some insane numbers. I think that would be an awesome sleeper because once you either won or barely lost, you could then pop the hood and be like "Yea, but I am only running a 1.0..." and that would be sure to put their tail between their legs.
