This disgusting turd of a GM car that came out during the fuel crunch.

Did you know that the air cleaner on this car is non-serviceable?

No. I took a cheeky look at the pricing of Chinese copymobiles and they have pricing that is 2-4 times lower than in the case of the real deal.

    Still, with Chinese rustproofing yos
Find me such tests. And what sort of BMW did it beat?

Oh shit, I thought that the "if that prototype got made, we would dominate" was only a Polish thing.

Can you prove it? Because I have not found any info about the 720 being tested in the West.

Can't find anything on that currently, did read that ages ago.
Altho objectively, with the stats of the 1.8 it was more powerful and made more torque (720 1.8; 95 hp & 152 N·m) than the period BMW E12 engine of the same size (E21 518; 90 hp & 142 N·m) while still being cheaper and potentially better, but that statement (potentially better) can't be backed, only by the fact that the engines made instead were bloody immortal.

Oh cut it out, I'm being objective here. Before the soviet invasion of 68' we were on a very high global industrial level, the 1000MB was a well reviewed car everywhere, built with at the time new techniques that even the west licensed from us, and its not just automotive, its anything from drill manufacture to heavy machinery, say trucks or trains. Polish had none of that, economy or the ability to produce anything worthwhile, they couldn't claim that.

From what I know, the 1.8 was finally not meant to be produced. Talk about versions that would be headed into production.

And it is one thing to build a prototype that is better than a BMW, but it is a different thing to mass produce a car better, yet a lot cheaper than a BMW.

The 1.8 was a prototype of a prototype could be said, it was not originally a part of the first series plan, but would be added later on, and it proves the concept either way.
The 1.5, which the 1.8 was just a upscaled version of, was rated with 84 hp and 121 Nm, and that even means has more power and torque per displacement than the 1.8, in the end being a more potential engine, and that was supposed to be the main engine option, you can't deny those specs are good for a early 70's 1.5 fourbanger

Daewoos are good. The Espero is my favourite, I like it's design. If it was RWD I would buy it

    Arguably the Peel P50.

Why. Just why. Why does it have a pathetic 4.2 hp 49 cc engine? Why does it only have room for the driver and a briefcase?

Because sometimes people don't need to carry 14 million cubic feet of air in their cars? And 4.2hp for such a light car is plenty enough for city use.

I will edit my post, and say "Can't believe why" as the car was already 5 years old when I was born.
