Okay, here's something else then... It's not an well received hatchback from consumer reports, as it had under-going quality and unsafe steering, even if it was an significant car.
And still you got the best version of it... The Simca/Talbot Horizon the Omni was derived from was even worse.
Exactly. Harsh race clutch, uncomfortable seats, complicated 5-point harness, barely any engine durability and performance matched by something new that you can actually daily drive.
As an owner of a '78 saab, I have to diagree. Older cars are built like tanks, not some flimsy plastic/fiberglass crap.
Gotta agree with you there. Multiple accidents I've seen on the motorway with small objects being hit by cars has had the front plastic bumper scattered all over the road.
If we've driven cars with little to no safety features for around 70 to 80 years then I'm guessing you can?
A modern car is designed so that the front end crumples easily to absorb the forces of the crash. This stops them from going straight through you (which they would in a car that doesn't easily crumple).
Difference being that if you're someone who can drive, you will most definitely not get in an accident.
Well hurrfurrdurr, most car accidents are the driver's fault. Also, in any car, it's rather unlikely you'll escape a car accident unharmed. Can we get back on topic?
Excellent reason to be driving a car from the '70s when some other driver gets in your face with his 2-tonne, brand new SUV. Accident would be his fault, after all.
