I didn't even know about that site... Will definitely use it for my future mods

 

Can you please put it on the repo? Because I´d like to have the mod-description in-game and get notifications for updates. It is easy to do: You just go to "mod"-section, click "add a resource", write description and pictures (essentially you can take what you have already written above) and upload the zip - it´s easy!

I see there are a lot of replies since the last time I've been here!

gilygu, for German and Czech plates, the front plate (default plate in the mod) has no technical inspection sticker. In order to have them on your rear plate, you'll need to select "Yellow EU license plate" as a license plate size from Ctrl-W menu.

TheFakeJack, I'm using both of these websites when making my mods, especially Olav's plates, there are a lot of high quality photos there. And also pictures from Platesmania.com, but mainly for random number generators.

Leo Zieger, I've just added the latest released version to the repository. The next update (Beta 0.3), that will add more types of plates for Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Germany and Hungary is scheduled to be released at the beginning of March. The rest of countries will be made later.

Risgre, I'm putting my mods (zip files) right inside "mods" folder (AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.31\mods), not in the "repo" folder. It works for me. But when I upload the mod to the repository, you'll be able to download the mod directly in the game.

What character do I use to make a space on the Czech plates? (not with the 3d circles)

 

You can use the blank space character for that. This character is used for vintage car plates (older format: V -1234) to make the gap between letter "V" and the rest of the number, but it works also for standard plates.
In Czech plates, a dash (-) is used to make a place for technical inspection stickers (numbers generated by default use this character).

 

Hello! I would like to ask if there is any possibility to replace "-" symbol in Slovak 2006-2023 alphanumerics. In 2 older types of plates was dash regular symbol, but in this particular type from 2006-2023, a coat of arms will appear after typing "-" (dash). So I want to ask if you can replace a "-" symbol encoding coat of arms with "." for example and add new separate command for dash with "-" symbol. I hope I didn't write it too complicated...

I've just started working on new types of Slovak license plates, so my answer is: yes. In the next version, the dash symbol for Slovak 2006-2023 plates (with national coat of arms) will be replaced with an asterisk (*), so I wouldn't have to create separate plate designs for 2004-2006 and 2006-2023 license plates.

A showcase of all plates that will be added in the version 1.0:

There will be some changes not shown here:
- for Polish plates: 2 possible modifiers added after the number: "|O" enables old design of M & W letters from 2000-2002. "|E" enables laser markings used since 2020.
- for Slovak plates: modifiers "|S1" and "|S2" change the number of stickers used on a rear plate.
- for Slovenian plates: use of a colon ":" in place of a coat of arms symbol sets the coat of arms automatically based on 2-letter code (e.g. for "LJ", the coat of arms of Ljubljana is chosen). Actually, there are 58 coats of arms available for real-life plates, but currently in the game, only 11 of them which correspond to the region capitals (+2 additional for police and army) can be selected. Maybe I'll add support for other town crests in the future.
- you can choose a validity month/year for Romanian long-time temporary and Slovenian export plates by using a 4-digit modifier (e.g. "|0724" for July 2024).

It will be the first full (non-beta) version of the mod, but it doesn't mean I won't add some more plates in the future.
I'll release the new version probably today or tomorrow.

Would it be possible to link this thread as the repository mod's discussion? I've seen that some of the mod threads have a repository link above, with buttons: "Subscribe", "View ingame" and "Download now".

Could you please advise us where we should write "|S1" and "|S2" for appearing of the stickers on the rear plates? Thanks.

 

The sticker is displayed only on the rear license plate, so you'll have to select one of these types as a rear plate:
- Yellow EU license plate
- Yellow license plate (for US format)
- 34x21 cm or EU square license plate (as they are almost always mounted on the rear, with a standard 52x11 EU plate on the front)

In the "License plate" text field, type "|S1" for 1 sticker or "|S2" for 2 stickers (without quotation marks) right after the registration number, without any spaces before/after it, example:
BA-123CD|S1
if you want a plate with number BA-123CD with one technical inspection sticker on the rear plate. I'm sure it works for 1997-2004 and 2004-2023 license plates with a dash instead of coat of arms.

can you add pre-2000 polish plates and older plates for other polish variants (diplomat,temporary,etc) in the next update?
