Hello, I've got a suggestion; the Hundertwasser Number Plates. Basically a Draft for a revision of the Austrian Number Plates made by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, as a counter to what is the current plate design. It didn't go into realization.
Hey rukatsunderi, will you also add a option to have the new region stickers on the DINs? Since they were already used on the late issued DINs. Heres a example:
Is there any way to get back the TÜV plaque on the German license plates, because i saw there are textures for the plaque in the files but they dont show when using the licenseplate and adding the region ID, only the State plaque is shown
Are you using a mod car? Sadly, most mod cars dont support this feature, but if its a default ingame car you can just select the rear plates and it will show. Some mods support this aswell if you have the European Plates Compilation mod
I love your mod so much, rukatsunderi. But I think that now is the time for update to add more license plates as well as support for more modded vehicles, including: Gavril Barstow IV Procyon Avior Remastered Gavril Bandit Cherrier Tango 2012-2025 Dacia/Renault M0 Platform Gavril Dynamo Ibishu Signia/BX (if possible) Ford S-Max Volkswagen Jetta (A5) Mercedes-Benz ML-Class Mazda Xedos 6 Suzuki Swift There wasn't any news about the mod for a month and a half. Maybe you decided to take a break or you work hard on the mod so you don't have a time to reply on the forum? I will wait for any announcements.
Hello, everyone! Because I haven't received any new message notifications, I didn't even know that someone writes in this topic As you have probably noticed, the update 0.35 has changed the way European plates are rendered. Great that also European plates have a rear side, so they'll look better on cars like Bruckell Nine, but unfortunately, the front side is now rendered the same way as for US plates, so it will take me a lot of time to fix colors of all the textures, especially for plates with non-standard background or font colors. I don't know if the change of front side material it's a bug or a new feature, so probably instead of making changes to the front side material, I'll just try to add a rear side to existing plate models without changing the front texture (also adding a new size for pre-1994 Czech and pre-1997 Slovak plates), while also adding a separate model for front plates (if it isn't possible to replace existing models), that used a better looking old material. For example, this is how Polish temporary plates look like in game version 0.35 - they're way too bright when exposed to sunlight: @Mustang_Boss302m, for now it's not my priority, as I prefer to add plates that actually are used or were used in the past, maybe even pre-1990 Austrian plates if I have enough time. @okr, I may consider this option, but without adding a new plate design. It will probably be implemented for existing DIN 1451 plates as a switch, like "|N" at the end of number. @Danil M, I don't have much free disk space, so the number of cars supported might be limited (but I'll have a possibility to test them, so thanks for your recommendation). I hope all of these mods are free, preferably available on the Forums, as I won't add support for paid mods (only for free demo configs). Starting from April 14, I'll have a short 1-month break from my studies - I'll have a lot of time to develop the mod, so stay tuned for the future information!
Found out the way to temporarily fix it: I needed to open the Material Editor, select the "licenseplate-52-11" material and then click "Revert to V1" in "Material Info". To update the license plate look in the game, I moved a "Reflectivity Map Factor" slider (in "Advanced Properties" tab) to an another value, then reverting it to 1.000. I don't know if it's a good approach, but it worked. I'm still working on the mod, today I've started making 1994-1997 Slovak plates. For that, I've implemented new plate dimensions: 49.6x9.6 cm for single-row plates and 32x18 cm for double-row plates (Czechoslovak 1986-1994 plates also had the same size).
Nice! Will you add 46x11 size for Germany? its the most common size for the plates, and i think we need it.
@okr, thanks for your suggestion! That will be a very big number of new plate sizes for me to add in the next update, but I'm sure I'll add also 46x11 German plates, if there's such demand. Another small teaser for today: a prototype of pre-1990 Austrian plate I'm also creating - that's 3 more sizes to add to my mod, as rear plates were larger than front ones (or even 5, if I also take into account that plates with four or less digits were more narrow) Because I have programming skills, I've found an easier way to adapt existing DAE plate models for new plate sizes, so probably I don't have to worry that it will take me a plenty of time to add new plates to all cars (but it requires my manual check and fixes too)
Looks really good! Looking forward for the next update. This is still one of the best plate mods out there for BeamNG.
I dont know if youve noticed but the custom seasonal dates on german plates got broken by the update aswell example shows |0310
I don't know why it happens. Sometimes the diffuse and bump texture don't update together. Today, I had this issue once with default German plates, with my mod deactivated. Does it render correctly for example when you change the numbers of your registration number from 40 to 41, and then back to 40? Also, could you check if this EU license plate fix works on your device? Put it in your mods folder and re-run the game.
It works for me. Thanks for the fix. Also, is there a estimated planned release date for the new update? The new BeamNG update broke alot of stuff. I dont know why they changed the rendering thing, atleast its still normal on the rear though. Is there also a list on what countries your planning on doing? Keep up the good work.
I'm sure it will be released this April, probably at the end of the month. Currently, I don't have a plan to add new countries to my mod. One of the reasons is that only 9 countries would fit in the mod's description. Also, we have quite good mods for Lithuanian & Bosnian plates. Serbian plates mod was updated this year and probably it will get better gradually. Instead, I want to focus on older types or variants of plates from countries that are already in my mod. There are still some plates in use that I probably don't know about. Today, in my home town, I have seen an export Slovak plate of new format (AA-VH3**), that had a small field with years/months at the top left - I didn't know about them until today Also, I can officially say that 46x11 cm German plates will be added in the next update.
Looks nice. I also have a suggestion, i dont know if you add it, since these plates arent really official, but in Germany we call them 3D plates, and they have like a 3d effect, the white outline of the text is black which makes it stand out more, and also the plate is like plastic a bit with black rounding. maybe you could try adding something like that for Germany? It would look nice for some custom builds. Example: Some also offer them with carbon design, even on normal plates, the carbon design is not exclusive to 3D, you can see it on the image with the Motorcycle sized plate.
Hello, everyone! Since my last post, I've made some new plates: 1986-1994 Czechoslovak/Czech plates. They're of the same size as 1994-1997 Slovak plates (49.6x9.6 cm or 32x18 cm). Also with a yellow background variant for commercial/state-owned vehicles. 1953-1986 Czechoslovak license plates, Front plates have dimensions of 49x10 cm. Rear 32x20 cm plates with cut corners won't have a custom model for now, as it's difficult to make. Although white double-row plates with this design didn't exist in real life (it was only used for yellow plates), in my mod, both white and yellow 1953-1986 plates will be available in two size variants. 1956-2000 German standard DIN plates, but with new regional stickers. German military (Bundeswehr) plates, available in following sizes: 52x11 (EU), 34x20 and 28x20 The new version will probably be released this weekend or at the beginning of next week. @okr, as models of license plates in BeamNG.drive are actually flat, it will probably be impossible to do. But maybe one day, I'll try to find a way to recreate this look quite faithfully using just diffuse and bump textures.
Wow. nice to hear it that the update is releasing soon, and a nice addition of plates. The 46x11 is confirmed to come this update or another update?
