so I'm trying to change the colour of the engine using paint.net but it wont let me access the pessima_engine_n file, any idea how I can? Any help is appreciated.
Step 1: don't use Paint.NET Seriously, regardless of what the internet told you Paint.NET is an inferior product. I'll help you save yourself some time: if you manage to use Paint.NET long enough to get even vaguely good at image editing you'll find that it's missing too much. You won't be able to follow image editing tutorials from the internet focused on Photoshop, GIMP, etc because Paint.NET just doesn't have the tools! I've posted about this several times before, such as over here for example. FWIW I don't think that you'll be able to change engine color by adjusting the 'normals'. You'll probably want to adjust the 'diffuse' map instead. That would be the pessima_engine_d file.
