imagine, just for one second that you are in the shoes of Clarkson, May, or Hammond and you’ve just been told to buy a secondhand car, and have been given a challenge. Which car would you choose? That's what this thread is about. Come up with a cheap car challenge for the beamng community and see what cars they pick! RULES: Cars must have a price limit (eg: $1000) Must be a certain type of car All cars chosen must be real You can choose any car sold in any country Must include picture Be realistic, if the challenge is for a $500 car, don’t pick a brand new Lamborghini Have fun! I will start. The challenge: cheap SUV’s for under $1000 My pick: Toyota 4Runner
Abused outside, but OK underneath, 90s Suburban, ideally a 2500: I think I'll make another challenge: $100 a year: find a luxury car above 40 years of age and below $4000 of price. After a three-car race in my head (Jag XJS, Mercedes 450SE, Cadillac Eldorado convertible), I choose: A mid-1970s Cadillac Eldorado convertible, tuned up to pre-emissions engine setup. Also, what about a rule that would say every 3rd/4th/5th (undecided, let's see how it plays out now) person makes their own challenge) or tells the next to do so?
There was one on the same website I got the picture of the car at $3,050 USD. https://cars.oodle.com/detail/1977-...225-read-description/4852393133-kingsport-tn/
Well, the Electra and Deville are very similar, though the Deville is a bit nicer (but not in as much of a good condition for the price). The Electra is an OK condition/specs tradeoff, and let's leave it at that.
Do I have to pick an actual vehicle that is currently for sale or just imagine one? How do we decide who won? Assuming I have to pick an actually existing car, here's my entry. A 1975 MB 280 SE W116 for 3200€.
There generally isn't a winner, and it may or may not be existing, but has to be somewhat (even theoretically) available somewhere on this planet at the price point. --- Post updated --- Answer to this one, or to any of the previous, or to all. Whatever you wish. US$25k performance cars: I'd buy a 2007 Maserati Granturismo (edited from Z06 Vette).
I say a stock Ford Mustang (post-Foxbody) Besides from the standard trim, you can also get the Premium/GT/GT Premium and you can also get the convertible Mustangs as well.
This Dodge Charger R/T 5.7 HEMI https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/742293482/overview/ New challenge: Ten Years, Ten Hundreds Drivable car up to 10 years old for $1000. No auction items, car must have a fixed price. I choose this 2012 Daewoo Nexia, from Russia without love.
An $973 JDM 2010 Nissan Cima. (https://www.beforward.jp/nissan/cima/bf935439/id/1024706/?mfg_year_from=2008) Outside Japan's bargain bin, a 2009 Lacetti from the UK - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classi...036&width=720&height=540&paddingColour=e8e8e3 That's 14 years old.
