I find that you can get decent accuracy with an Xbox controller if I use two fingers on the steering joystick. (Thumb on bottom, index finger on top. I just move my index finger back up whenever I downshift.) I really would like a wheel but it's just too expensive for a decent one for me to think about getting one in the near future. I used to have a cheapo NASCAR wheel that I actually got for free on Craigslist. It worked okay but I broke off the gas pedal and one of the analog paddles never worked. Besides, it used gameport so it was really only usable when I had my old rig.
Well, I use my G25 since like... 4, 5 years? I bought it for 216€ back then, and it looked like completely new. (In this time the G27 still was on about 400+€) The only thing which is bugging me is my shifter, my reverse doesn't work anymore. (Well, sometimes it does). But that's nothing too big, they're cheap to get. I never had any trouble with the wheel, and much, much fun. Best gaming hardware I ever bought.
Yea, they're basically still like an on / off switch because of how easy it is to slam the wheel to it's lock position. The pedals are emulated better via the gamepad triggers though. That is much better than the keyboard.
Am I the only one who uses an Xbox controller but doesn't just turn the joysticks all the way no matter what? I mean, there's enough precision to work just fine for a driving/racing game. (In my opinion. Still, nothing can beat a good wheel.)
I have sort of gotten the g25 to work in game. The brake pedal reverses, and the other pedals don't do anything. The steering wheel in game turns way more than the logitech wheel. Help would be much appreciated.
Have you downloaded logitech profiler? http://www.logitech.com/no-no/support/131 sorry for norwegian but i could not get to the english site it shuld fix the pedal problems This is how u get full rotation With the wheel connected open profiler and go to options(might be named alternatives) then Global Equipment Settings and change the rotation to 900
Thanks, fixed it. Also, does anyone know why the game doesn't need a clutch to shift gears? I can use it but I can also shift gears without the clutch.
Mine does the same thing, also if I turn mine too fast (gotta turn it pretty fast) it basically loses track of where the wheel is. So you can have it centered in game but the wheel will be off center.
My first wheel was a G25 was an awesome wheel but it was starting to make some noise and reverse didn't work... I actually made a dumb video about it. But yeah g25 is perfect for beamng.
Does it do that in all games? I think they use optical encoders, if they are dirty then that could certainly happen though I'd expect issues turning the wheel slowly too so perhaps not. I doubt its the game at any rate. See what the windows joystick screen says for it as you spin it quickly. Force feedback may help prevent it going that quickly in future.
