Because they keep updating it without raising the price because that would be unfair for new players that old ones got the updates for free and new ones have to pay for them. And because nobody would buy the game if it was as expensive as it should be, because it's early access, nobody would pay like $200 for an unfinished game.
Maybe it's a sweet spot. Selling 10 copies of BeamNG for 25$ is better than selling 1 copy of BeamNG for 100$
Yes it is. For us 3.80 euros is 334,89 Rubles. So 334,89 Rubles is expensive for mod when, you can buy bread and more food for 300 Rub.
for that you go and tell it to your government, Lucas has nothing to do with that, if you can't afford it move on
just don't use ruble --- Post updated --- on a more serious note, is this normal or was it worth more money in the past
idk if this has been reported yet but i found three bugs relating to the gauges one, the temperature gauge goes out of range when the ignition is switched off two, the parking brake light doesn't go off when the ignition is switched off and three, the backlight and warning lights don't seem to like the recently added bloom effects very much, unless that's the way it's supposed to be
Actually, it's not expensive. If we compare the Lucas mod, and what they sell in groups in VK. Where a mod of dubious quality can cost 500-1000 rubles. And the Lucas mod is close in quality to original cars.
On the other hand, I think Leo has a point. I'm fairly frugal with where I spend my money, and while $6 AUD is a pretty insubstantial amount of money, and the picnic is a well made car, it is only one car, and a fairly niche one at that. Presuming people like LJ and Lucas keep making equivalent quality mods for this same price, there will come a time when getting 12 of these good mods might cost $50 or $100. At that point, I (and probably others) would be getting very selective about what mods I buy; I just don't have that much interest in French hatchbacks, or 70s polish econoboxes, or plain commercial vehicles, regardless of how well made they are. So far, Lucas has sold 1508 copies of the full Picnic, compared to 183K downloads of the demo Picnic. Even presuming 3/4 of those demo downloads are just the same people re-downloading the 3 updates, that still leaves you with 45,750 people possessing a copy of the demo Picnic. That means only 3.3% of people who show some interest in the mod buy the full version. I'd be very curious to see what would happen if a mod like this were sold at a lower price. If a mod were sold at 20% of this price, so €0.76, each buyer would be able to buy 27 mods before doubling their investment in the game, which would open up how many people would be willing to buy it. If that got you 5x as many purchases, or 16.5% of demo users, Lucas would end up with the same amount of money, each buyer is paying less (which makes it better for people with poor currency exchange rates), and the mod ends up with a less "exclusive" stigma around it, which I'd say would be generally beneficial to the game's community.
A solution to people thinking it's too expensive can be offering discount codes for 50% discount. If someone wants to pay the full price to support the creator they can do it, but if they just want the mod, they can get it for half the price.
