Thank you I m glad you like the Silverado, but be carefull with the credits of your video. I haven't made the car, this is a conversion only. Add the others creators who have work more than me on this project and it will be perfect.
gabester id love to see if you could make a modern pickup truck like a ford f150 2012, woudl be amazing
Actually working on the dark colour problem. I think there is a normal default somewhere because the lighting on the vehicle is inverted: the face in the shadow is lighted like the face in the light must be... But when I change that in 3ds max it change nothing in game.
I've made 3 engines for the truck. -4.3 L LB1 V-6 155 hp @ 4000 RPM and 230 lb·ft @ 2400 RPM -5.7 L 350 V-8 185 hp @ 4000 RPM and 285 lb·ft @ 2400 RPM -7.4 L 454 V-8 240 hp @ 3800 RPM and 375 lb·ft @ 3200 RPM All three running through a 4-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic 700R4. 0-60 times of 14.39 for the V6 to 9.89 for the 454 V8. (2WD base models)
It has an 800HP engine as an option, so I guess NBD. I always use my own engine and trans files anyways. - - - Updated - - - In related news, I finally downloaded this. To be honest I avoided it 'cause, well I don't like the truck in real life. But I have fun with it in game. I love how it has a solid front axle, I'm going to spend some time on the suspension and see if it can crawl. The wheels are sooo sunken in though.. Will it blend, that is the question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b55vNrkr0Ic
Nope, I don't have any recording software... Well, the Ford 460 (7.5L) V8 of the time had 225hp and 365 lb·ft and that's with a 4 barrel carburetor. I can imagine that the fuel economy wasn't the best. At 55 mph the 454 I built gets about 13mpg. The V6 gets about 22... And also remember it isn't the horsepower as much as it is the torque. The trucks are plenty fast for the time.
Anybody else having this problem? I thought it might be my texture settings, but if changed to normal, the game crashed when loading the vehicle. - - - Updated - - - Ok read through the whole thread. Truck will play fine for about 5 secs then game will crash. Can't get the funny side panels to go away either? will this be fixed soon? - - - Updated - - - Ok got the truck playing. If i make any changes to it, it will crash shortly after. Also, i've noticed a few things 1. Needs side textures fixed 2. Needs something done about the reverse side of the hood 3. bed and backside of tailgate need detail 4. Missing reverse light on passenger tail light. 5. Headlight dimensions are off. Other than that its a good truck!
I'm curious about something. I can delete the orange layer and other custom layer you made (because I personally don't like it on the vehicle), but how do I make it so I can change the color and body texture like I can on the pickup. I just want to change the texture of the chevy to match my other vehicles (digital camo via Pickup_c.dds), I don't know enough about how you have this setup clearly, haha
For now you can only change the material files because the textures are exactly as the gta convertion. I need to make a texture file like Gabester and map UV on surface.
@FreeFall Don't speak if you don't know, before comment this thread, read it! You can convert all you want if you keep in mind some conditions. @FunkyHunk You can convert all you want if: You ask the permission of all creators and others when it's a convertion. (here Gabester for some parts of D15 and the JBeam files, the guys who convert the original files, the site of the original file) You can convert the files. You write correct credits in your thread. To export a file from GTA IV, you need: 1/the game on your pc. 2/3DS max (2012 for me) free if your are student. 3/Open IV to export from the img file. 4/Add on to import the export GTA file into 3Dsmax Search on youtube there is a video you explain very well how to do. Stop to think you can't convert for this amazing game, and stop writing this idea without read the devs posts.
But it's ways better not to use models coming from commercial games. You said you need permission, who's giving you the permission from rock star in that case?
