Nope, it has been in progress for way longer than that, if anything the one in the map would be based on this, but I also doubt that
There are multiple modes and they also differ depending on if you crash into traffic or into something static like a wall. The 360 degree camera circling and pausing the physics in intended.
For anyone having issues with the crash camera activating seemingly randomly while driving around, we will fix this in the next hotfix. But as a workaround, try disabling the vehicle pooling feature for traffic in the gameplay settings.
Is there any chance we can set the duration of the cinematic camera? I'd love to be able to let it play out a little longer.
Love the new crash camera, it looks amazing and shows the charming physics of BeamNG. I hope we can adjust the proportion of different modes like External. And I feel that the 360 degree camera movement is somewhat strange, maybe more camera position nodes can be added to make camera moves more smoothly. Actually I'd love the crash camera available in replays so that we can adore a big crash repeatedly and from different vehicle's perspective.
You guys should base some of your crash cams on "Burnout Paradise Remastered" They have excellent crash cams,(and it's a good excuse to get the (other) best crashing game of all time!) and I think at least some of these crash cams would be awesome in beam.ng. They also move with the car instead of staying in one place.
can you guys please make the duration of the crsh cam modifiable cuz it seems kinda short NGL, i'd like to have it for a longer duration of time
I found an issue, im not 100% sure if its my mods or not (only 5 active. but 1 a camera mode mod). I was crashing one a highway tunnel (at really high speed) and I hit a small barrier and it went to cinematic cam just as the car collided. When I pressed the respawn button before the crash-cam ended, the car respawned but the game remained in slow-mo and cinematic camera. Then I reloaded the LUA with "CTRL-L", it fixed the slow-mo camera angle, but it left ALL the UI hidden. Then when I pressed the pause menu button, nothing come up. and i will have to force quit the game through steam. Even the debug menu ( ` ) didn't come up. --- Post updated --- Update: Going to map view fixed it! But this could still be a major issue...
One of my favorite features added this year has been the cinematic crash camera. One minor quibble is that sometimes I feel it cuts off too early and I wish I was there was the option to hold a key/button to prolong the slow motion. Or maybe even make this camera mode bindable to a key so that you can disable the automatic triggering of the camera and hold/press a button to toggle it manually instead. Most times I know when I'm about to crash and I would like to just hold a button and see the cinematic view when I want. Also it would allow some alternative for when the triggered angle is obscured by foliage etc. You could just release the button and press again and maybe get a new angle.
