Bear with me, this is a long post. I love the new Mammoth Valley map and felt inspired to do a little Fargo-esque picture story from it. Please read on if interested. Or scroll past if not. I live in Mammoth Valley. It's a little town, just a few people. Most people there are on their way somewhere else. Lot's of college kids heading for the slopes. I drive a truck. It's one of the few jobs around here, and it pays the bills. One day as I was leaving town, I came across a little red Bandit sideways in the road. I tried to swerve, but the roads were slick. I was too late. It was an accident. The driver was hurt real bad. I was okay, the rig was totalled. The girl driving the Bandit was the niece of some big teamster guy out of Texas. He wasn't happy and I guess he sent some folks up to say hello. It's a small town. So, when some fancy new sedan rolls through, people notice. I wouldn't have thought anything of them, but the way they slowed down when driving past my car made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Something about that car made me uneasy. I didn't see them for the rest of the day, and had mostly forgotten about them as I drove home that night. The roads were empty as I drove, so when I saw lights flickering in my rear view, it caught my eye. People say I drive too fast. Mammoth has a lot of tricky roads that can get you if you don't know the area. It's a big place with a lot of snow. You go off in the wrong place... No one will ever find you.
nostalgia --- Post updated --- forgotten skidplate config (and still good fps with higher settings on this map)
