True, but when he floods community screenshots with "meshslap bad meshslap bad" just as much or if not more than private mod screenshots, it gets a very tad bit on the annoying side. OT: forgot picture
No offense, but I think it's okay for him to call out this stuff. -none taken, its just getting old always seeing him complaining about mods with at times a lot of time put into them. Just let people enjoy things (i need to clarify, im against just slapping a model on unedited jbeam and calling it done. But using a model from another game or somwhere else should not make a mod automatically bad. Not everyoine has the time or skillset to scratch model everything) From I've heard, there's meshslappers that apparently promote their mod like it's the second coming -i havent seen any of such promoting myself. Maybe if you count posting screenshots as promoting then yes. plus I heard they can be really toxic -if private mods are stolen and reuploaded, wouldnt any1 be angry? And tbh there are toxic people both making mods and hating on mods so honestly stupid argument meshslaps presumably come from sketchy sites. -if you are referring to stolen private and public mods and few of their 'exclusive mods', then yes. These sites are despicable in the eyes of mod makers. Speaking from personal experience, one of my mods leaked and not even mod credits were correct so yeah ot:
Well, not all people have/want to use automation. And automation stuff most times looks worse than free models found on the internet. And using offical cars jbeams as base allows adding features easier. Ot: random ass interior photo
Figure I should put my two cents in on this whole meshslap drama. 1: What is a meshslap (IMO): In my opinion, a meshslap is a mod with no effort put in. Doing the bare minimum to get a model in game. That usually means taking a model from a game, slapping it onto the jbeam of another vehicle, and calling it a day. A meshslap is not someone taking a model from a game and making a custom/modifying a jbeam to fit the model, and then making sure it has a working interior, lights, etc. 2: What I think about meshslaps: I think people should be able to make them... it’s a decent way to get into modding. However, I don’t think you should post a meshslap anywhere. If you’re gonna put something on the forums it should have some work put into it. I also don’t think you should be posting images of it, especially if it’s private. Obviously, you have the right to, but it’s kind of a dick move to show off something you have and then tell everyone that it’s private and they can’t have it. To summarize, keep meshslaps off the forums, as they don’t belong here. TL;DR: A meshslap is something with no work put into it and they do not belong on the forums in any way.
