The rare 1994 Ibishu Pessima Export Edition. Produced locally in the Middle East, the Export Edition featured 135/95/R13 tires on 13" steel wheels. Unnecessary items such as the rear sway bar and various interior amenities were removed in order to save weight and money. Very few (with some sources saying less than 450) were imported to the U. S. through special order for government or fleet use. Also to save money, the standard 1.8L SOHC Ibishu unit was replaced with a 2.5L Chrysler K unit along with the Chrysler A413 3-Speed Automatic. While only having 100hp, the engine had very good low-mid range torque peaking at 183nm@2800rpm (135lbs-ft), making it more brisk in lower speed situations despite what the 14 second 0-60 time would suggest. Furious over the replacement of the standard Ibishu drivetrain, Ibishu tried to cancel production but was contractually obligated to provide the bodies so the car was produced without any Ibishu badging. The vehicle could obtain 27mpg at a steady 65mph. Due to the ease of operation afforded by the automatic transmission and cheap maintenance, the IPEE, as it became unofficially known, developed into reasonably popular transport among the middle class in many developing countries.
