This time I’m trying something completely different: a video with talking cars (with voices provided by the ElevenLabs AI). Below the text is an Alpha release of what I intend to finish, if anyone likes what I’m going for. The “speech wiggle” of the cars is done by listening to the AI generated lines at 0.25x speed and pulling the car up and down by its front edge. Then the footage is sped up by 400% via video editing. I have seen a similar technique being used on another BeamNG video that I can’t remember, but nevertheless, I see SO much potential in talking cars (and yes, voices generated on ElevenLabs AI). Not that the result would instantly be viral, but something to entertain THE portion of viewers who still has the attention span for more than shorts. There are channels making similar BeamNG videos with dialogues to add something to those crashes, but only with text. And yes, another channel that I can’t remember, has BeamNG cars speaking with real voice actors. If there was the option, I would've used a German accent for the Mercedes and an Italian accent for the Lamborghini. I wanted them to sound like old men, since ultimately the cars featured in the video are kinda retro at this point. But as ElevenLabs only seems to make one kind of voice for an “old British man,” I had to lower the Lamborghini's voice to make it somewhat different.
Well, here it is, even though I had no patience to wait for any feedback about the pilot version of it. I love this kind of niche within the BeamNG community (the niche of talking cars adding to the usual racing, crashing and whatnot). I hope I find out the inventors of this genre, so that I can thank them for inspiring me. I wouldn't even mind making a series out of these.
Yes, I've heard of something similar. I believe Beamng Boy does some of that for his Stupid Covet series.
