Re: A Friendly Competition - Timetrial Around Dry Rock Island in the Covet Turbo Rall My computer is far too slow to record an attempt (gets only 20-30 FPS just running 1 car), but I think this event would be far more interesting (and sadistic) if it included the dirt roads at the northern edge of the island.
Re: A Friendly Competition - Timetrial Around Dry Rock Island in the Covet Turbo Rall My best attempt yet at the challenge... About 2:00 min even. This makes me even more impressed with the 1:49 time posted earlier... well done!
Re: A Friendly Competition - Timetrial Around Dry Rock Island in the Covet Turbo Rall While 20-30 FPS are very low by their own you could use an external recorder to avoid any performance loss during recording. These come as stand-alone devices or PCI/PIC-e cards for a second computer (Or maybe even the same one? Help me out here). I personally don't own such a device (yet) but I have been recommended devices from blackmagic and hauppauge with the note, that such tools are always a bit clunky or "not ideal". Note that that measures from the first stone on the fuelling-stations exit to passing the very same stone at full speed for the second lap.
Re: A Friendly Competition - Timetrial Around Dry Rock Island in the Covet Turbo Rall As mentioned above that's not strictly conforming to the route. You just gotta keep it on the black! Though my best is only 2 seconds quicker...
Re: A Friendly Competition - Timetrial Around Dry Rock Island in the Covet Turbo Rall Cutting is fine as OP said. What I meant was the route is from next to the fuel station to the same place i.e. the finish is stopped next to the fuel station. I was saying to SgtSpike to keep it on the black to improve his time
Re: A Friendly Competition - Timetrial Around Dry Rock Island in the Covet Turbo Rall Sorry, my mistake.
Re: A Friendly Competition - Timetrial Around Dry Rock Island in the Covet Turbo Rall Ah, I missed that. I thought I had checked that time and it conformed to the rules...! Anyway, a new challenge is afoot - posting a new thread momentarily! - - - Updated - - - The results are in, and it looks like Meral Harbes smoked the competition! Well done good sir! Re: A Friendly Competition - Timetrial Around Dry Rock Island in the Covet Turbo Rall Thank you! Although fyzz08 didn't stop at the gas station either, but by driving past it while braking. That's until where the time is measured. He just parked it there afterwards. Sorry for calling you out.
Re: A Friendly Competition - Timetrial Around Dry Rock Island in the Covet Turbo Rall Yeah, I figured that because I didn't specify where one should park (and didn't tell people to reference my video for it), I shouldn't DQ him for it. He did cost himself some extra time stopping further away though. I gave you a mention for your other run. Another new challenge is on the way!
