For those with doubts, the 210 is a really nice case, especially for $30. Fits a lot of 3.5 drives, though there aren't any 2.5 SSD mounts, 3 optical bays, lots of room for a long PSU, and has a grand total of 3x120/140mm, 3x120mm and one 120/92mm fan area. The top 280mm and front 240mm can both fit rads, and I'm pretty sure the top one could even fit a thick rad. Fans; 2x120/140mm on top 120/140mm side panel 2x120mm front (behind the front panel) 120mm bottom 92/120mm in back
Update: Steam machines! I made several TV gaming builds, ranging from a $400 console killer to a $1000 high-end PC for the living room.
Updated - rewrote entire CPU and GPU sections as well as most of Motherboard section. Removed PCPP build links since most were outdated or had out-of-stock parts. Will update with new builds soon.
Updated: Added new builds with up-to-date parts. $500 (FX-6300 + R7 370) - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bluescreen1985/saved/D4P48d $600 (i5-4460 + R9 380) - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bluescreen1985/saved/WgFV3C $750 (i5-4460 + GTX 970) - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bluescreen1985/saved/C7G8TW $1000 (i5-6600K + GTX 970) - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bluescreen1985/saved/MP8V3C $1500 (i5-6600K + GTX 980 Ti) - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bluescreen1985/saved/sbRdnQ $2000 (i7-5820K + GTX 980 Ti) - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bluescreen1985/saved/XmNMnQ
GREAT idea: Include @RobertGracie 's Magnum Opus specs in your build guide list. Of course with the line "Nah, just joking..." beside.
Hello, I am completely new to computer gaming. I have been a fan of this game since it came out, but could not afford a gaming PC. You seem to know a lot and I am a little overwhelmed. Are these builds you recommended still relevant? I noticed you said it will be cheaper to build than buy. I was hoping to put something together for around 600, but I am not sure if that is possible. Would appreciate any help, thanks
The builds were last updated this week. Yes, it's much cheaper (and better) to build your own PC than buy one. Here's the $600 (US) build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bluescreen1985/saved/WgFV3C This should run most games at high settings 1080p 60fps. BeamNG should be easily maxed out, except for dynamic reflections.
I now see that. Originally I saw a date for 2014 but I now see that was your join date. I also see the links for the builds. Thank you. I will look into them
Alight so I think I will go with the $600 dollar build. My biggest problem now is finding out how to get windows 10 without spending 100 dollars. Any ideas?
Yup. <I'll forget it otherwise>Oh, yeah, like I said earlier somewhere: If you want to buy a 4k-monitor, you want to buy a second 980Ti and put it in SLI so your fps stay about the same.</I'll forget it otherwise>
