These are actually two different cars. Above is the Chinese copy, a Landwind X7. Below is the Range Rover Evoque. Apart from a few subtle differences they are almost identical.
Vauxhall copied Opel! The vauxhall nova looks exactly like the opel corsa! Yes this is a joke please don't stab me
They did it again! Vauxhaul VX220 and Opel Speedster --- Post updated --- Glenny claims leader of page 2!
You don't get it. General motors is a company which owns multiple smaller companies. Those 2 cars are both from brands made by General Motors, they are even made in the same factory!
The only differences is one is for Australia, one for the US, and one has a Pontiac badge. They share the same frame, and some engines are shared.
Hasn't anyone ever fucking heard of badge engineering? Honestly, Chinese cars are irrelevant in what I'm trying to make a point. Half of the cars posted I've seen are GM, they're not the only ones that does this shit. Ford has done it with Mercury and Lincoln, Chrysler has done it on some of their cars with Dodge, and Plymouth, and also at one point with some Mitsubishi cars as well and then up until recently, they're beginning to do this with Fiat as well. A few of Nissan's commercial vans are being shared with Renault and Opel/Vauxhall. The main reason why manufacturers do this, is because it costs more money and resources to build a totally different car than it is with taking an existing car and modifying/alternating how it looks, what engine is offered for whatever market it's being sold in, price, etc. Because you have to think, it's less expensive for GM to rebadge a Chevrolet Cruze as a Holden Cruze, just so they don't have to pay for more resources and pay the workers more to create a totally different car just for two different markets. That's basically just eating away money and they won't make any profit from it whatsoever.
